The Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant Act (URLTA):  Florida Residential Landlord-Tenant law (F.S. 83.40) is modeled after this Act - Florida adopted URLTA, but there are occasionally some language differences.          More Info to Come.  For now, Here is the Florida Statute covering RESIDENTIAL "Landlord-Tenants Law".  Follow the "Left-Click HERE" instruction and a popup window will appear with that designated Section or Chapter.  Only Part II: Residential Tenancies is presented below.  This section starts at "F.S. 83.40" of the Florida Statutes. For those unfamiliar with 'the law' -- the first number "83" is the "Chapter" and the second number, to the right of the decimal, is the specific statute "Section" within the Chapter. An example of a correct full citation to a statute would look like this: "Sec. 83.40, Fla. Stat. (2003)" -- and general text reference is usually phrased like this: "F.S. 83.40".
