| Does this look like New Jersey to you? Well. it happens to be shot from the west side of the Hudson River, up on the Palisades from-yes..New Jersey. You see, this the view from where I live. You know, that little state everyone likes to make fun of? Well, there is so much people do not know about this state. But that will come later. Right now I will focus on the problems we have here in my own County, that being Hudson, probably one of, if not THE most populated County in the state, if not the Country. I am sure it makes the top 10. It also makes the top ten of 'the most corrupt counties in NJ. Sometime issues that may seem small to your local politician, mean a great deal to us. I will tell some true tales of just that and more.. Recently we have had another scandal to add to our ever growing list- Governor Mc Greevy has recently announced that he is gay, has had an affair with another man, but we know there is much more to the story than that- his lover was about to file a suit against him for sexual harassment, also they are looking into allegations he was using State monies for a variety of things one of them being the possibility he was trying to use it to 'pay off' his lover/ Fun, hmmm? Yes, that is our County all right. Not to mention they are ALL and I mean ALL Democrats from the bottom up -except for the {President. They stick together and make Their 'plans' as to who will run for this and that, and it goes on and on.....I am a concerned citizen and will gladly debate any thing anyone may have concerning this site. Although I have a feeling once you read it, you will only skake your head and think 'politics as usual, except this County seems to have more of it than usual' |

| THE TOWNS AND WHAT THEY OFFER-AND DO NOT OFFER: FIRST OF ALL, AS THE ABOVE PICTURE SHOWS, WE HAVE A INCREDIBLE VIEW WHICH SPANS ACROSS MANY TOWNS. Of course, we are very close to NYC. 10 minutes by bus, van, ferry, path train, and it had become so desirable the are building anywhere possible. Increased taxes on prpoerties with the view-I mean up to $12,000 a year in some areas!!! Now, the beautiful waterfront below the cliff which we sit upon, is being built into condos, hotels, and more. In the process they take up more andmore of the natural view, create more traffic, pollution and only the rich can afford to live there. I have no problem with the rich, good for them- but I have a problem with the wonderful views and the town I grew up in and the way it was once, a long time ago. |

| Here are just a few of the things that mean so much to everyday citizens that the local politicians choose to ignore...in Weeahwken there is a Senior/disabled Town building a1 and one half short blocks away form the bus that can take them shopping any time THey would want, restaurants, Doctors, 2 town parks, and more. Problem is it does not stop for them! YES,it is true. It passes right by and there is one third of a mile between bus stops and after getting polls signed, writng letters to the Mayor, waitng for a response, calling after receiving NO response [ 4 times to be exact ] still no reply to post for the people and no bus stop. Now here is a DANGEROUS issue. I had found out from a friend of my Son's that their corner intersection had accidents on a nearly WEEKLY basis, and 'near misses multiple times a day. I asked them, what do the police have to say when you asked them,[I know my Son would automatically ask and had already figurd out why it was happening] He timed the lights and obsevered the intersection and found out that the yellow was-now get this folks, was 1.3 second long! On a road where the traffic is going fast and they all hit the corner as the yellow turns and run through. Well, being there is 2-way traffic, the first lane may see the car, but not the second, and BANG BOOM CRASH! Also, there was NO intersection overhead light! Yes, there are the thin old 'pole' lights off to the corner which are difficult to see, and if a truck is parked there you canot see it at alll. The answer given to him was this is an old system and they do not have the MONEY to get a new one. !!! What?!!! They had just found monies to renovate a nearby park and put in a $165,000 fountain! Lamp posts and new sidewalks were popping up everywhere! Then I heard form the neighbors and store ownners how they had complaned and it was always the same "no money" But..then I heard the stories, the ambulances, the injured getting pryed out of there cars and finally the street pole that in the first week of July came between a Mother and her children and a van. Yes, they were playing in the park-yes a park right on the corner and not 1 but 2 high schools -imagine. That was it- I made up my mind right then and there to call the Mayor of West New York [the town next to mine, where my Sons lived] and did the very next day. First, They said please right a letter which I did, but this was such an urgent issue I wanted them to know right away. I sent the letter registered mail and called to be sure thay received it. Well, at the end of the week I called and the receptionist tokd me they had just read it, and she thinks they will reply. Whoopee! I am not holding my breath... Well, on Friday, the town financala administrator who happens to be my Mayor, called and said in that usual apppeasing way: "'Oh, Ms. Mxxxxx , thank you soooo much for bringing this to our attention, we wil take care of it right away" Ha! [ I think they keep a little recorder in their pocket and play this line over and over as the occasion arises ] I simply said Yes, well please tell the Mayor that I will thank him when I see the job done" Well, they did mangae to prolong the yellow, which made a difference, but the overhead signal light? I waited and waited then I called . That is when I heard a slew of excuses one after the other such as "they are waiting for parts" Then I spoke to the man who prolonged the light, who I happen to know from a job I held in that very town years earlier. He told me : "I guess I get to give you the good news" Really? What is that I said-"The overhead will up in October." Well this whole incident started 7/5/04 and this call [after many] was the end of August. I said what is the hold up? He said" at least we know it is coming, it will be here and that is what is important" So I waited and waited Oct came and Oct went and then I called, the answer when I asked for those involved was "No one is here, I will give them the message" each and everytime the same response. Imagine the frustration. I decided I would write the papers and make this site as a way to let the public know of the danger at the intersection. Also any other neglectful acts large or small will be printed here. Anyone who would like to share a story may do so by e-mailing me. |

Councilman Frank Mudry, who is also the Borough Police Commissioner, is accused of chatting with teenage girls on the Internet to try and convince them to meet him for sex. Police say Mudry was surfing online chat rooms, soliciting what he thought were two 14-year-old girls for sex. They say he allegedly sent nude photos of himself over the Web and described sex acts he wanted to perform on the girls. According to Passaic County Sheriff Jerry Speziale, the 39-year-old father of two was never chatting with teenagers but instead chatting with someone with the countys Internet Crimes Unit. Councilman Mudry has been charged with attempted sexual assault, enticing a minor and endangering the welfare of a child. He remains in jail on $100,000 bail. In his neighborhood, the councilmans re-election signs have been taken down and those who voted for him expressed their shock in the charges. ---- INTERESTING? OR PATHETIC |
