| A scriptwriting workshop held at Miami-Dade Community College gave rise to �CITA A LAS 7� -- a weekly cold reading series designed to foster great writing by taking words from page to stage without the aid of rehearsal or prepared characterization. Following the "Tuesdays @ 9" format created and used to great success by NAKED ANGELS New York theater company, �CITA A LAS 7� accepts 10-page excerpts of works-in-progress for cold reading by professional and semi-professional actors. The emphasis is on the benefit to new works, and the collaborative role of actors in the editing process. Actors also learn to make instant, courageous delivery choices--skills profitable in auditioning as well as performance. |
