CIT Sailing Club
Welcome to the new look of CIT Sailing Club Online!

The upcoming year is upon us. It's is up to us the members to ensure that we get the most out of the year.
The CIT sailing club is made up of some well acredited sailors from Round Britain and Ireland Race winners, Fastnet race winner, past Irish National title holders, bursery award winners and fully qualified sailing instructers. Overall we have quite an array of talented sailors.

Come and expeirence the joy of sailing with a funny, enthusistic and friendly group of college students.
Sailing will take place in Crosshaven and will continue throughout the college year.

The Cork Institute of Technology Sailing Club could not be organised or function without the continuing support from the Institutes Sports Office. A contribution, that enables us to compete at the highest level of Irish Intervarsity level and achieve the highest results. Last year the club's first team won two out of the four events on the Irish Circuit and the Club finished on top of the Irish ranking order for the 2006-2007 season.

The CIT sailing team represented Ireland at the Student Yachting World Cup 2007 in La Rochelle last October. The worlds, is by far the biggest and most important event for the CIT sailing club in the past ten years. With such a huge event came huge costs all of which was supported by the Institute and outside sponsors.

The contribution from Chieftain construction, O’Leary Insurances, Dosco Brushes and Marshall Marine Textiles  helped in such a big way that the team could not have participated without their help.

The team trained extremely hard in their preparation and were all on serious regimes in order to perform at their best come the event.
The team performed at thier very best but were pipped at the post on the second last day.
