About Michigan City
About
Children's International Summer Villages (CISV) is an independent, non-profit volunteer organization promoting peace education and cross-cultural friendship through programs for young people.
CISV was founded in 1951 by American psychologist Doris Allen and currently has National Associations in over 50 countries.
Since the first Village progam in Cincinatti, Ohio, U.S.A., that hosted
55 participants from nine countries, CISV has grown to over 100,000 participants world wide. Today, around 7,500 participants from over 90 countries learn to live and work together for world peace and friendship in more than 200 multinational programs every year.
Thank you to all the wonderful CISV sites that have helped with information to make this page possible.
