| .....continued from page 1...... It's simple: to be an official member of the JB, you need to be a member of CISV London, so ask your parents if your family is a member of the London chapter. If your family is not a member, you can still attend one JB activity as a non-member. This means you can also bring a new friend with you to introduce to CISV! Speaking of, I'm supposed to be introducing the JB... so I guess.... JB is just a bunch of dedicated, intelligent and motivated youth who want to make a difference in the world. I know that I'm proud to be a JBer and I really hope I'll see you at our next activity! Peace, Love and CISV, Inara (Chair of JB London) |

| My First Time as a CISVer My name is Emily Putherbough adn this year I got involved in CISV. I kind of got involved by accident, really. My mom was hoping my 11 year old sister would want to go to a Village and realized that there was a Summer Camp available for 13 year olds. When she told me about it I was very excited. When my friends found out what I was doing they were very interested and asked me what CISV was. I told them "it is an international program that brings kids together from all over the world to learn about each otehr." This was what I thought CISV was at the time. I wound up going to this camp with four of the most wonderful people ever. We traveled to Vancouver, Canada and had the most amazing three weeks of our lives. We met people ther whom we will never forget. I had the greatest experience ever and I learned so much. I find myslef relating everyday things to somethign that happened while I was there and I think about CISV every day. Now when someone asks me what CISV is I tell them "it's a way of life". | My First Time as a Junior Counselor YO! My name is Erin Murray and I have been a part of CISV for about 6 years now. Everything that I have learned from this organization has helped me grow and learn as a person. From age 11 years, in Germany to wintercamps in Ottawa, National Camps in Halifax, each chance I get is brand new, full of adventure and fun. This summer I had the chance to be a JC in Waterloo, Canada. It was one of the best experiences, as a member of CISV, that I have ever been a part of. The atmosphere is indescribable; each and every day the members of this camp grew together as a family. Knowing what the experience was like a s villager and looking up to the role models, given teh opportunity to be one of those role models to all those kids just made me realize how important each and every person is in that camp. Not only was it a motivating challenge to lead by example, but working as a team member with the delegation leaders, staff and other JCs made each and every challenge worthwile. No matter the responsibilities or challenges I faced through the month long period of being a JC, I was able to gain the skills needed to become a leader in the furure. Because of my experience in Waterloo, I am able to take my skills back to the chapter and teach others what it takes to become a JC! If you have any questions or concerns about applying for a JC, do not hesitate to contact me. Erin Murray |
