"Hey Babe!" Reinstated

Congratulations!  You have recieved your first issue of the London JB newsletter, the Hey Babe!.  The purpose of the Hey Babe! is to keep you updated and informed about all the new and exciting events in CISV.  Some things you might find in here are: past memories, photos and fun articles by current members in our chapter.  The Hey Babe! is a great opportunity to show your friends and family what a wonderful organization CISV is and can encourage them to get involved too!  This newsletter will be sent out to all active JB members of CISV London.  Get excited, because CISV London 2008 is going to be a blast!
If you have any  comments, questions, concerns or something to add to the Hey Babe (everything is welcome!) please send them to the JB Chair, Inara Garrett.

Building Global Friendship in 2008

Each year CISV Canada has a Natinoal Board Meeting wher all the Canadian chapter representatives gather together to discuss how CISV can ge bigger and better than ever.  An awesome part of NBM is when each chapter finds out where they will be travelling for hte coming summer.  The decisions are based on a "hockey draft" where each chapter is numbered and put into a hat.  This random selection gives each chapter a fair chance to pick their travel opportunities for the programs they choose.  This year was a lucky one for London!  Get ready for it! The following are travel opportunities that London has chosen:

Village - Munich, Germany
Village - Paris, France
JC - Detroit, USA
Summer Camp - Londrina, Brazil
IYM - Kenya, Africa
Seminar Camp - TBA

For more information regarding each program please visit

Junior Branch Baby!

Hey! What's up?  I've been given the task of describing the JB and I've been thinking about it a lot... it's a hard job!  JB stands for Junior Branch, but lets be real here, any JBer could and would tell you that JB means a whole lot more than just an acronym.  But wait, you might say... What's a JBer?  Well... a JBer is any person between the ages of 10 and 21 who is an active member of CISV.  Simple as that! Honest! That means that anyone who has ever participated in any CISV event can become a JBer!  How cool is that?  Especially considering all the amazing events that are run for and by the JB.  Like our fall minicamp which went down the weekend of October 19th.  We had 30 kids, a great site, a binch of dedicated parents who supervised (THANK YOU!), and a lot of great games.  When we added all this together we got this wicked awesome mix of enthusiasm, energy and FUN!  For those of you who weren't there, you really missed out!  At minicamp we played some sweet new and traditional CISV games, had some really thought provoking discussions and basically had an awesome time with all the new friends we met! By now you might be wondering how to become an official member of the JB............
