John Stuckey  (G-G-Grand Father)

Born: New South Wales, Australia - 23 October 1843

Died: Queensland, Australia - 2 November 1882

John Stuckey  was born on 23 October 1843 in Gundagai, New South Wales[1].

On 30December 1872 John married Nancy Doole  in the Presbyterian Manse at Stanthorpe[2]. Nancy was the daughter of James Doole and Martha McMaanie . see Nancy Doole (page 25).

John and Nancy had four children:

                   i.    MERCY SEVERN STUCKEY , Mercy was born on 26 February 1874 in Ballanden, Bentinck, Queensland, Australia[3] and died 1 December 1944 at Wallangarra, Queensland, Australia[4].  She married JOSEPH WHITEHEAD  on 2 January 1889 in Bentinck, Wallangarra, Queensland.

                  ii.    ANN ELIZABETH STUCKEY , Ann was born on 17 May 1876 and died in about 1959[5].  She married THOMAS JOHN MORGAN  on 7 February 1901 at Allora, near Warwick, Queensland[6].

                 iii.    ADA PILE STUCKEY , Ada was born on 17 November 1878[7] and her date of death is unknown.

                 iv.    JOHN HENRY STUCKEY , John was born on 2 June 1880[8] and died on 26 July 1912 at Wallangarra[9].

John  died on 2 November 1882, it has been suggested that he either fell from or was run over by some sort of horse drawn conveyance.  He was buried on 2 November 1882 in the Stanthorpe Cemetery (plot 6.k.13 Record 290)[10].

Mercy Severn Stuckey  (G-Grand Mother)

Born: Queensland, Australia - 26 February 1874

Died: Queensland, Australia - 1 December 1944

MERCY SEVERN STUCKEY  was born on 26 February 1874 in Ballandean, Bentinck, Queensland, Australia[11].

On 2 January 1889 she married JOSEPH WHITEHEAD  in Bentinck, Wallangarra, Queensland, Australia[12].  Joseph was the son of JAMES WHITEHEAD  and MARY TAYLOR  and was born 1 March 1865 in Dalby, Queensland, Australia.

Mercy died on 1 December 1944 in Wallangarra, Queensland, Australia and is buried in the Wallangarra Cemetery[13].
