Cirenio Jimenez

For Regional Student Rep Region VI

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

My name is Cirenio Jimenez and I'm currently running for Regional Student Representative for Region VI.

I started off my SHPE career at Southern Illinois University in August of 2000. This is my 3rd full year in SHPE and I can say that I have had many accomplishments in SHPE.
Home Goals/Platform SHPE Support

My first year in SHPE I took on the position of Regional Treasurer for Region VI. This was a big step which began my SHPE career. During this time Paul Raņola was RSR and he selected me to be on his board. I was also very active with my local chapter SHPE-SIU. I received Most Active Member Award and New Member of the Year Award. This same year, SHPE-SIU was the host for the first Regional Retreat in Region VI. Along with Paul Raņola and Vanessa Camacho, we were able to make this event a total success.

This year I'm currently attending Richard J. Daley College. I've been active with SHPE-Daley for almost 2 years. This year I've had the honor to be back on the Regional Board as Vice RSR for District I. This has been twice in the last 4 years that I've held a position on the Regional Board. In my local chapter, I'm currently External Vice President. At SHPE-Daley I've been awarded with SHPE Most Improved GPA and 1st Place Solar Dehydrator Design Contest.

I believe I have the experience required to take it to the next level. I am fully capacitated to become the next RSR for Region VI. I really want to make a difference in Region VI and improve communication within SHPE student chapters, the Regional Board, and the National Board.
