Home Apply Rules Players Recaps Forums Hosts |
Disclaimer: This recap reflects the slant and bias of the host, who held an omniscent view of the game; what is said is what happened, but be aware that some stuff said are the opinions of the host. You should be able to figure out what's what, though. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times: It was "Circles of Trust" time, and on December 5, 2006, 14 players were going to be in for it! Hosts Devon Spasms and Aaron Seizures had invited these lucky few to play the game, casting a couple more than the originally intended 12. Their names were Andy, Ben, Brandon, Emma, Erin, Holly, James, Jason C., Jason M., Nikki, Paul, Stacey, Tyler, and Yves. How would the game work? The concept was simple: Each round, there would be one challenge. The person who won would become "The Center" of the circle, and would be safe from elimination. Everyone else would have to form lists called "Circles of Trust", in which each person could state as many as 7 people and as few as 1 whom they trusted and wanted to stay in the game. People could include anyone on their lists beside themselves or The Center. The 3 people who were included in the fewest Circles of Trust would get nominated for elimination, and The Center would then have the power to choose which one of the 3 nominees would be eliminated. It was an experimental format for a game, and sure to create tension and fun! In one month, one of the 14 players would become the winner of the game: the one trusted the most by all, the one who had battled their way to the top with strategy, wits, and confidence. But before being declared winner, this person and their 13 competitors would have to endure challenges, twists, lies, deception, and the eliminations of friends, foes, and inactives. Before all this, though, the chosen 14 first had to meet one another. One by one, they arrived at the games Internet forum and introduced themselves...sort of... Jason Carver: "I'm Jason C. www.myspace.com/jasoncarver add me!" Yeah, so some people decided to be lazy and use MySpace as their primary method of introduction and communication, but others decided to talk and let a little about themselves be known. By the way, I am quoting almost all of the contestants entirely directly, so any grammar mistakes are there own. Anything they say that doesn't make sense is their own doing. This is not only because Im too lazy to translate their Internet jargon into the English language, but also because sometimes I can't figure out what some people are even trying to say, especially in later episodes when they act hysterical over being eliminated by their "BFF." Nikki: "Hey everyone! I'm Nikki. I'm 22, and i'm from Albany, NY, as you can see above. I'm in my last semester of college (I graduate in about 2 weeks!!), and I work in retail. It's kinda hetic right now with all the holiday shoppers, and finals, so forgive me if I'm not online a crazy amount of time, esp. in the next two weeks." Andy: "Hi, Im Andy, I havent got a myspace just yet :( however I will soon....:P Im 16, from England...really...there isnt much else to my life except that" Brandon: "Hey guyssss. My photo is so awful. I'm Brandon... 15... and not all that exciting. Sorry for anybody who tried to talk to me last night, I didn't mean to ignore you, but my brother stole the computer while I was getting something." And that's about the extent of Brandon's efforts to get to know his fellow players. But, there were others the players WOULD get to know quite well... Paul: "I'm Paul (obviously). I'm 21, and right now I'm in Champaign, IL for school, but in a couple weeks I'll be back in Chicago. Um... dunno what else to put here... so I won't put anything." Erin: "Hey everyone I'm Erin. 22 year old from Shreveport, Louisiana. I am a preschool teacher, where I teach 2 year olds. I LOVE Survivor, NASCAR, and crazy board games." Yves: "Hey, I'm Yves, also from England, and who needs Myspace anyway? What do I say... I'm 29 years old, half French, and am self-employed as a computer salesman when I'm not ORG-ing. I come from a fair-sized town called Birmingham and if you ever want to see me IRL, you can usually catch me in the Apple store in a big shopping centre there called the Bullring. I'm a mole ORG regular but I occasionally get involved in other stuff, like this game for example! I like a good clean game and Im looking forward to meeting those of you (most of you I think) who i've not met before." And unlike Brandon, Yves does not stop talking for the entire extent of the game. One by one, the others stopped by the forums and introduced themselves. Some were surprised by the diversity of the cast; unlike most ORGs, many of the players had not met each other before. The players gave their thoughts on the cast privately in confessionals: Andy: When I first looked at it, I thought, wow, I didnt think that there would be this many people I didnt know, a fresh cast, something I didnt expect. I liked it because there were a few people I did know, so at least I could work on something at the beginning. James: I was glad to see a few familiar faces, really both Jasons and there's a few others that I know slightly... but by and large I'm happy that the cast is filled with people that I really don't know. Brandon: I've never played with any of these people before so it should be interesting to see how far I can make it. And as you'll soon learn, Brandon is able to make it far in the game. Quite far. In fact, some might suggest he makes it a little too far, but that's just the normative opinions of some people that may or may not include the hosts...along with anyone with any common sense. Despite the excitement and interest these players expressed, others had more negative opinions of their competitors. Jason C: Most of the people in this cast are extremely naive and annoying. You did a good job casting some of the shadiest people in ORG. I don't trust any of them. Emma: Ehhh. Personally, I'm not too thrilled with it. I've been pretty busy lately, and haven't exactly made the effort to get to know anyone. But from what I've seen.... boooooring! No offence or anything though Ben: Honestly, I'm not impressed. I have had one interesting conversation this game which is depressing...The cast really does not bring any interesting qualities to the table so I hope that some will aquire some by the end of their stay in the game. And in this host's opinion, they would acquire interesting qualities. But first, the players had to get to know one another on a personal level. Stacey, a self-described "Nice" "Shy" and "Hilarious" 17-year-old girl from the small town of Seaforth in rural Ontario, showcased these characteristics in her first conversation with Jason M., a 19-year-old Florida native. Jason M.: hey stacey! Stacey: hey Jason M.: i'm jasonm from the circles of trust gme Stacey: oh nice to meet you Stacey: how are you? Jason M.: i'm good. tired and stressed w/ finals Stacey: aww Stacey: oh that sounded really formal Jason M.: what sounded formal? Stacey: my "oh nice to meet you" Jason M.: lol Stacey: lol maybe it didnt sometimes being formal just creeps me out Jason M.: oh well haha. i'm like the least formal person ever. i am a telemarketer Stacey: oh really? Jason M.: and i get yelled at all the time cause i'm not politically correct Stacey: wow thats actually kinda cool! I have never knew a telemarketer before Jason M.: lol, i'm lookin for a new job Stacey: I kinda wanna be a telemarketer now, but I hate talking on the phone so I dont think I could do itKit just seems like a cute job Aww, so the two had already found a connection: an interest in telemarketing! But let's see what Stacey said in her confessional about this conversation... Stacey: So I have been really fake so far. I always try to be gitty and happy when I much rather just be shy and depressing cause thats who I really am. But I cant believe that today I actually told Jason M that I was jealous of him being a telemarketer and that I actually wanted to be one... Half of these people are lame anyways so I dont care. Whatever happens, happens. Hmm..."Nice"? "Shy"? Well, definitely "Hilarious" and entertaining, but we'll have to wait and see if those other characteristics come to light later on. Jason M. had bigger problems than Stacey's fakeness, though. Like Jason Carver. Both Jasons were of the similar age, from Florida, and had strong interests in music. And besides the fear of being confused with the notorious ORGer, already Jason M. feared Jason C might try to eliminate him later in the game. Jason M.: I know that I have to keep my eye out for Jason Carver. I have just heard so many things about him. I don't know which ones are true and which ones aren't. And as he might not target me right away, I know he's got the potential to sweat talk his way out of a paper bag. So my radar is turned on...but for now, I'll just play stupid and see if he takes me along for the ride. And who might be helping feed Jason M.'s fears? Perhaps a close friend of Jason M.'s! Though the two Jasons had never met before this game, James had known and befriended both of them. But as his confessionals show, James felt Jason M. was more trustworthy than Jason C. (Note to readers: Paranoia 2 is a game that James and Jason C. had previously played, where the two were awarded first and second place at various times.) James: Carver and I made a Paranoia 2 alliance.... we'll see how long that lasts. My guess is that we'll basically ride each other for as long as we can keep the paranoia (no pun intended) away... but once we get the feeling that someone is about to backstab the other, we'll slice and dice. I don't want to go to the finals with Carver... he always seems to win in a vote. But I don't want to get rid of him, not yet. He's a great target to hide behind... not that I'm planning on playing UTR, but as long as Carver is in the game, someone else isn't looking at me. He's always the bigger fish to fry. Jason M. and I have a good friendship going back from Survivor Tomato... I've hosted him in two games. He likes me and he trusts me. I'll have to make sure to keep that trust, but he's someone who I want around. Jason M: is jason as bad as people make him out to be? James: yes and no. he says he's turned over a new leaf, but i'll believe it when i see it. he's definately snarky, but i think his "evilness" has been built up by urban legend Jason M: lol James: i was partners with him in Paranoia 2, and we honored our final 2. he was very loyal Jason M: he seems really "buddy-buddy". i'm just worried he's gonna take advantage of me. James: he probably will, but you have to go with it. keep up the buddy buddy.if you pull away, you're only gonna get on his hit list. Jason M: yah, he'll go after me James: i have some control over Jason, some influence. so let me worry about that part Jason M: kk, he just makes me nervous James: he should The question that begs to be asked after all this debate over Jason Carver is what is Jason Carver thinking? Truthfully, there is no way to know what the elusive Jason Carver is EVER thinking, but his confessionals from that round might give some insight: Jason C.: Emma is my girl and will always be loyal. James was my strongest ally in Paranoia Vol.2, and we work well together, so hopefully he sticks with me. And Holly is in love with me, so that helps. Yes, Jason C. had previous connections, and from this formed a simple plan. But he was not the only one to know others prior to the game--many players did, in fact, including Paul and Yves, whose relationship was from a previous game called Spies 2. They had gotten along, but there was somebody else in Circles of Trust who had also played the game... Yves: Hey Mr Paul! Glad to see one or two familiar faces... although Ben was slightly awkward...Considering in Spies 2 I called him an idiot about sixteen times in my confessional...pretty much organised the exiling of his chief ally...and imprisoned him. Paul: LOL...Maybe he doesn't remember? lol Yves: Hmmm... it was an awkward first conversation, that's for sure. Paul: Well, there are some awkward people. Yves: Ben's ok. While not discounting the possibility he could totally stab me in the back, I do want to make it up to him a bit. Thing is, he's a tricky one. Paul: What makes you say that? Yves: Past experience. Let's not dwell. Suffice to say my intentions regarding Ben are pure. I ain't gonna stab him in the back and I'm really hoping he decides not to do the same to me...Which he could in a heartbeat I think. Paul: It would involve him winning a challenge first. Yves: He wouldn't need to, he's good with alliances and stuff. By reputation he's better at this kind of game than me. Not that it matters, unless he chooses to go after me, which I don't think he will. Paul: I guess time will tell. Yves: Hey, there's no mole and no spies. I'm in the dark here. Paul: LOL, agreed. It's like a reverse Big Brother, and I've never been very good at Big Brother. Paul: I know Erin and Yves [from previous games], they're cool people. I'd like to see them stick around. Doesn't make us allies. Everyone else I've spoken with has been nice. Still to early to call them friendships, though. While Paul was feeling relatively secure with his previous connections to Erin and Yves, Yves wasn't that confident. So he decided to come up with a plan to NOT form alliances, but friendships! Yves: Alliances - avoiding like the plague, which is probably why I'll lose, but hey - if I don't want to play the game like that, I won't play the game like that. Friendships - I've deliberately gone looking for stuff I've got in common with the other cast members to start up conversations, and it's been a success for the most part. A success? That's debatable. Instantly, the 29-year-old Brit set out to find some friends amongst the teenagers and young adults of the game, which was a challenge in itself. Here is his first attempt to woo the fun-loving, NASCAR-obsessed Erin, a 22-year-old Louisiana native, into being his friend. Yves: Hey! Erin: Hey Erin: Im so sorry to ask this...but do I know you? Yves: Yves from "Circles of Trust". Yves: And no, not yet. Erin: oooooooooooo Hey!!!!!!!!!111 How are you doing? Yves: Good thx. Lemme check ya profile a sec... Are you one of the "myspace" crowd? Erin: Yep. I am. www.myspace.com/erinengle Yves: Cuts down small talk. Erin: It does Yves: LOL. We have one thing in common straight away... CSI Miami really is bad, isn't it?! Erin: It is!!! I LOVE the originaal Yves: I did, before it got really pervy. But hopefully it's getting away from all the dwarf / mother / fat people fetishists etc and gone back to its roots. Erin: I admit the last 2 seasons have been a bit werid. Did you see the K-Fed epsoide? Yves: Not that I can remember it by name... but I probably have. What happened in it? Erin: These creepy looking people. They looked like Jacked up alians to me Yves: Means nothing to me...but then I've never met a jacked up alien. Or at least, if I have, he was disguised pretty well. Erin: hehe. Your too funny!!! Greg is my favorite CSI. Whats your myspace link? Yves: I have no myspace. Erin: oooooooooooooooo. hehe Yves: I think I missed that generation by about four or five years. And it hit over here later than it did in America, although now everyone seems to have it. Erin: Really? How old are you? Yves: 29. Oldest cast member I think. Erin: Hehe you didnt miss it by that much!!! But your not old Yves: I am for this game. So there was a little bit of a connection with Miss MySpace Erin for the poor old Yves. But how would he fare against our dear friend Stacey? Yves: Hey Stacey. Stacey: hey how are you? Yves: Doin' good, thanks. You? Stacey: I'm good thanks.. I actually just gave blood for the first time so I'm still kinda dizzy Yves: Ouch. I remember my first time, I nearly passed out. And I'm a big fat guy so that would probably've caused an earthquake somewhere. Yves: Was it painful? Stacey: it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, but everyone knew I was nervous because they were all like "are you okay?" Yves: I always find the fingerprick is worse than the actual having a needle jammed up your armK Which makes no sense. Stacey: oh it is. it still hurts but my arm is fine Yves: Well I only ever heard of one person's arm dropping off... recently anyway...so I expect you'll be ok. Stacey: lol I hope so Hmmm, a discussion that leads to the topic of arms dropping off. I suppose this isn't terrible for Yves's first time chatting it up with everyone's favorite "shy" Canadian...but we'll return to his relationship with Stacey later on in this episode and then see how they're getting along. With all 14 players together and now familiar with one another, the time for the first challenge soon arrived. Devon would introduce the challenge, but first I took a moment to explain something not yet mentioned. Devon: "You may notice on the forums below each of your avatars are two links: Exalt and Smite. There is also the word "Karma" with a number next to it. This number is your karma count, which starts at zero. Beginning in Round 2, your karma count will break all ties in the game. You can raise another person's karma by exalting them, or lower another person's by smiting them. Myself and Aaron promise to never touch a person's karma count, so the rest of you can feel free to use this feature to your own advantage! Be aware of it, for you never know when a tie might arise..." I then took the time to explain their first challenge. Devon: "This challenge is titled "Reality vs. Expecations", and that is exactly what you will be tested on. I've prepared for you a 14 question quiz: 7 questions are asking about the "reality" of the players in this cast, based on the application they submitted. The other 7 questions are about the "expecations", of the players, based on the survey you sent in before meeting each other. This survey asked you about what you imagined the cast would be like. All of the questions are multiple choice. You must answer these questions, and the person who gets the most questions correct after 48 hours wins the first Center." The quiz contained the following 14 questions: 1. How many of the players in this game were born in the month of May? a. 1 b. 2 c. 3 d. 4 e. 5 f. 13 2. How many of the players stated a soda of some kind was their favorite drink? a. 1 b. 4 c. 6 d. 7 e. 8 f. 13 3. How many of the players in this game used "paranoid" as one of 3 words to describe them in their application? a. 1 b. 2 c. 3 d. 4 e. 5 f. 13 4. How many of the players in this game listed an American football team for their favorite sports team? a. 1 b. 3 c. 5 d. 6 e. 7 f. 13 5. How many of the players in this game got at least 1 of the quiz questions wrong on the application they turned in? a. 1 b. 2 c. 3 d. 4 e. 6 f. 13 6. How many of the players either expressed dissent or were apathetic about/did not have an opinion on George W. Bush in their application? a. 1 b. 5 c. 7 d. 10 e. 12 f. 13 7. True or False: More than 3 people said Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back" was their favorite song. 8. How many of the players in this game expected the cast to be less than 40% female? a. 1 b. 7 c. 9 d. 10 e. 12 f. 13 9. How many of the players in this game stated in their acceptance survey that they expected someone named "Sammi" would be in this game? a. 1 b. 3 c. 5 d. 7 e. 9 f. 13 10. How many of the players in the game thought that 30% of the cast had called George W. Bush an "idiot" in their applications? a. 1 b. 4 c. 6 d. 8 e. 11 f. 13 11. How many of the players in the game expected more than 3 people would put down "Survivor" as their favorite TV show? a. 1 b. 8 c. 10 d. 11 e. 12 f. 13 12. How many of the players in the game expected the oldest cast member to be over 27? a. 1 b. 3 c. 6 d. 9 e. 12 f. 13 13. How many of the players cast in the game thought the winner would be a female, while the first eliminated would be a male? a. 1 b. 3 c. 6 d. 7 e. 8 f. 13 14. True or False: Nobody correctly predicted that there would only be 9 people from the United States in the game. For those who might be wondering about the answers, they were as follows: 1. d. 4 2. c. 6 3. b. 2 4. b. 3 5. e. 6 6. e. 12 7. False 8. c. 9 9. e. 9 10. f. 13 11. e. 12 12. e. 12 13. a. 1 14. False The players struggled with the challenge, finding it to be rather boring and tough to complete, as none of them knew anything about one another, let alone what they had expected upon entering the game. The players voiced these opinions in confessionals: Nikki: The challenge, although simple in its design, was difficult. I didn't even remember what answers I wrote down, so to calculate others' answers was difficult. I had to guess on the guesses. Paul: The challenge was a little too dumb luck for my liking. I just kind of guessed at answers, which I assume everyone else did too. Emma: To be perfectly honest, I wasn't too thrilled with this challenge. I feel like a lot of it was luck/chance, I don't think anyone really went to the trouble of asking people what their answers had been. But hey, I could be completely wrong! Although Emma was completely right about the challenge being a lot of luck, people did attempt to receive answers from one another, particularly James who discussed the challenge with both Jason C. and Jason M. Would this help him win? Perhaps...but before any winner is revealed, an incident must be described. I'm afraid I must describe it, as no tangible record of this happening has been kept. While Jason C. was attempting to figure out the challenge, he decided to form a big chat with everyone and share answers in there. The problem was, AIM messed up and the chat failed, so Jason C. ended up not forming any chat. However, Yves and others still received the invite. And this made Yves paranoid. Yves: Jason Carver invited me to a chatroom entitled "showmeurquizanswers" or something like that. I tried to get in but it wasn't working properly. What I'm worried about is that he's got lots of people in there all sharing information... Jason is capable of anything. Seriously. Yves then decided to go ahead and break his whole "no alliances" strategy, and decided to put a new plan into action. Oh, wait, sorry, my bad...he doesn't want to form an alliance, but rather a gigantic pact that helps each other out. He makes sure to never use the word "alliance." In this conversation, he gives Andy a run-down of his plan. And despite the oversized paragraphs, yes, this was a convo on AIM. Yves: Question: has anybody approached you for an alliance yet? I'm not asking for one with myself or for details, I just want to know if you've been targeted. Andy: nope. so, if alliances are being made, im screwed :-D Yves: Hmmm... now I on the other hand are considering an offer from someone I think it would be a real mistake to align myself with at this early stage. Last night Jason Carver invited me into a chatroom but I coudln't get in 'cause AOL was playing up. Which means I mighta missed an opportunity for quiz answers, or perhaps something more... I simply don't know and it worries me a little. Andy: well the only thing we have to worry about is if an alliance of 7 is made. if there is everyone else not in it is screwed. and if there is, there is still a way we can ensure were not the ones put up for elimination Yves: Ah, but here's the thing... the amount of people in the "circle" decreases on some rounds... so such an alliance would perhaps be vulnerable. I mean, who gets left out? Anyway I'm going in to this way too deeply right now...I just feel as though if that kind of thing is being done, and my gut tells me it is, it should be on the strength of who you WANT to be around. Andy: yep, too many people are worrying about getting one person out when it should be trying to get people staying in Yves: So my idea is to go to a few people and find out who they want to SAVE. I'm looking for people who are popular and who I'll enjoy my time in the game with. Andy: well...same here....but my only concern is I dont want to be the only person that is going around looking for alliances and such. at the same time I dont want to be th elast person to go around looking for alliances :-P Yves: Oh I agree. Which is why I'm not proposing a formal "alliance." I just want to know who you want to remain in the game. Talk to a few other people and make your mind up. My feeling is, if we can get together a group of people who want each other to be here, for this round only...It safeguards us to a certain extent and also means that the "assholes", if there are any, don't get an automatic pass to the next round. Andy: well...you'd need a big enough number to ensure that at least two people would get less votes then us and a small enough number to ensure that we dont have to force anyone out Yves: I agree, and I'm not saying we get seven people together and everybody votes for each other. I'm saying, if you LIKE Jason for example, vote for him. And let people know, including me so that others can do the same thing. Vote on personal preference. Andy: well, Im planning on talking to everybody, but yesterday wasnt a good day for me, so I wasnt on too much Yves: Yeah, well, sorry for rubbing strategy into your head this early on. Andy: dont worry Yves: I have a record of going out first in "survivor" games by simply not being strategic that early on Andy: Im just glad someone has the guts to do it Yves: Yeah, there are already people I don't want to lose. Only a few moments later, Andy got an instant message from James. James: So Yves is talking to you? Andy: yep well was, we haventr spoken in a few minutes. yourself? James: yeah, did he tell you his idea? Andy: ya As it turns out, Yves had pitched his idea to lots of people in 4 short hours...Andy, James, Jason M., Emma, Stacey, and even Jason Carver himself. Everyone had different reactions: While some like Andy and James liked the plan of working to save others (though not necessarily Yves), Stacey wasn't as big of a fan of the plan. Yves: Here's my worry. I think he was getting together a group to share quiz answers, knowing that one of them would be exempt. And that person would make sure NOT to vote from anybody from that group so they'd effectively have an alliance to eliminate the rest. And quite simply I do not want to go down that road in this game, at least not yet. Stacey: yeah I agree Yves: Here's what I've said to a few others: my last game turned into a MAJOR alliance-and-bitchfest. And I hated it. Don't want this game to go that way, so I'm proposing something a bit different. Rather than have a formal alliance, I'd like everyone to tell everyone else who they LIKE. In terms of personality. Share as much as you can, let people know who you're rooting for. In other words - you act to SAVE somebody, not to get them out. Listen to what others say if you've got a few circle spots left, and based on that perhaps fill those spots with other people's faves. Do you think that's a good idea? Stacey: yeah its a good idea.. I'll think about it Yves: Cool. I'll be online later on and talking to as many people as possible. If we can all get people voting for who they want in the game... I think we won't be in thrall to a couple of strategic players who are also "assholes". That happened last time and it was horrible. I would honestly have got out, but I never quit games so I didn't. Stacey: yeah I hate when games get like that, you just feel stuck and its just depressing Yves: Well let's make sure that this one doesn't, ok? That's all I ask. Cya later. Stacey: okay ttyl Stacey: Yves in One Word.....ANNOYING. And with that, Yves's hopes for befriending blood-drive Stacey had gone down the drain. Speaking of Yves, he had another worry that was constantly bothering him throughout the game: inactives. The people who were never around that he couldn't talk to! By the game's second day, there was one person he still hadn't talked to, and that was Tyler. He began to ask around where Tyler might be. Yves: Listen, have you ever seen Ty online? Holly: tyogical? oh no Yves: Tyler, in this game. Not sure if it's the same Ty. Holly: i was going to say, he's not in this game...but actually i haven't been on much lately so i can't say that i have Yves: Darn, but NVM. I was just wondering if we had a total inactive. Which would suck, but at least if someone never came online it would virtually guarantee the ones who did get online a place. Holly: probably, although i'd be kinda surprised Yves: I wouldn't, I've hardly ever been in a game without ONE inactive. Holly: well it's devon's game! haha Yves: True, and he is supposed to be one of the best. Aww, thanks Holly and Yves for the compliment! Unfortunately, there was an inactive in this game *cough*Brandon*cough*. However, surprisingly enough, Tyler was not inactive. He was just anti-social, avoidant, lazy, and rather rude. Tyler was Stacey's friend from prior to the game, and he had no desire to talk to anyone else...not even the host! He hid under a fake away message all day long and talked to Stacey about lots of stuff. When I asked Tyler where his confessionals were, he gave the excuse that he had an orchestra concert and still failed to do them, so he ended up receiving massive penalties and little airtime in episodes. Luckily for us, Stacey posted ALL the conversations she had with him for our own entertainment. Here are some fun excerpts that yall might want to check out: a montage of clips from Tyler's efforts to hide from everyone else in the game. Keep in mind, all of these conversations took place while Tyler was hiding under a fake away message. Enjoy! Stacey: Hey, Tyler! Yay! we are in circle of trust together! Tyler: yeah yay! Stacey: whats up!? Tyler: n2m u?? Stacey: nothing much either...so wanna be my circle buddy? Tyler: whats that!?? Stacey: we will just put eachother on the top of our lists when we have to do the circle lists for the people we trust. sounds good? Tyler: k Stacey: okay sweet. Im exicted! Tyler: me too Then later... Stacey: OMG WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT ERIN WAS IN CIRCLES OF TRUST I PUKED ALL OVER MY CUTE SHOES Tyler: OMGWTFPDQ Stacey: FRICKING SERIOUS! I CANT STAND HER. FRICK Tyler: ew. i quit. Stacey: I know...I know... and then Devon was like "why is she "ew"" and I didnt have a good reason. Tyler: you KNEW i was gonna quit!? Stacey: duh, I'm a stalker ...And later... Stacey: I'm worried everyone is talking to everyone because no one is iming me back (you included) and I'm not talking to everyone! *hides* Tyler: lol i havent said a word to anyone... Stacey: too late hunny Tyler: i know, so im just gonna float. lol Stacey: wait. if I float. and you float, you wont beable to carry me! floating is only for people without skill Tyler: im floating. i NEVER get to float! Stacey: okay well tell me how not to float and I'll carry you by my teeth Tyler: ok, talk to ppl, and ask them for alliances Stacey: I cant ask for alliances! I be too shy Tyler: can too Stacey: like I'm already faking it Tyler: good, thats what you gotta do, lol Stacey: lol, I have probably told the story about me giving blood tonight for the first time like 8888 times...but dont float. Tyler: NO IM FLOATING. Stacey: me too Tyler: you do too Excellent! An alliance of floaters! We'll see who lasts longer then: Two floaters or one rock named Brandon. Finally, it was time to reveal who won the first Center challenge! But before I could do so, something interesting happened in the AIM chat used to announce the results: Ty, a bitter ORGer who had been rejected from the game, decided to invade the chat, claiming he was a contestant the hosts had forgotten about. The following is a transcript of the chat where results were announced. Devon: Now-- *Ty enters the room.* Ty: Hey guys, sorry i'm late Devon: Surprisingly, there was no tie in this challenge. Yves: TY! Devon: Ty is not in the game. Paul: Ty? Ty: Shit, did I miss the first challenge? Sorry Devon. Ben: Why the f*** is he here then Ty was allowed to sit and watch. Results were revealed, and they weren't entirely pretty. Most people were not able to get more than 3 or 2 questions right. One person, however, was lucky enough to guess 5 answers correctly, and that was Andy. Andy was actually not entirely happy he won... Andy: I went on gut, but also common sense, I mean a lot of the answers could have been figure out by looking at the answers and eliminating silly ones, or peoples profiles. I mean, talking to a few people, I knew I would have a high-ish score....but, urgh, not really sure I wanted to win. I know I'm not in a very good position, because now, people will target me for winning the first circle, and if I make a mistake in who I eliminate, that would be ugly for me as well, I didn't really want to win, but someone had to....who knows...this could be either a really good thing, or a really bad one for me. ....and others felt the results were a bit unexpected too. Jason C. discussed the results briefly with Holly in a private conversation. Jason C.: who the fuck is andy this game is rigged Holly: I agree! i asked myself the same thing when i read the results. i've never even heard of him. Regardless, Andy would be the one determining the fate of one this round...one unfortunate soul who would be eliminated from the game. But first, Ty was still in chat, and he was creating havoc. He was demanding to know the reason for why he wasn't cast in the game. Warning, I am continuing to leave this relatively uncensored. But just to be nice, I cleaned up some grammar. Ty: DEVON WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR REASON AT! DEVON, TELL ME NOW BITCH! Devon: Oh, the reason you weren't cast Ty is a) You didn't want to play really, but rather annoy the host. Ty: Uh you didnt know that until i told you afterwards. Nice try asshole Devon: We figured it out Ty: WE my ass Devon: Aaron definitely agreed. Ty: well what's B devon??!?! Devon: We felt you might quit, or just act far too dramatic. Ty: FUCK YOU YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT! I AM COOL HEADED! I DO NOT CAUSE DRAMA BITCH. Devon: lol, this chat proves otherwise...and C) The final reason was, we felt you had too many previous connections, and that could prove detrimental to the game. (Think BB Reborn) Ty: YEAH LET'S SEE...BRIT HATES ME, BEN HATES ME, JAMES PROLLY HATES ME Devon: Brit isn't in the game... Ty: YVESS DONT KNOW HER, STACEY HATES ME Holly: But Ty, you hate those people too dont you? Ty: WHOEVER THE FUCK PILE OF SARDINES IS, SHE HATES ME Devon: anyways, I've told you why. I do think you are a strong ORGer though, and would love to see you in a future game. Ty: STFU BITCH Brandon: I'm a guy, thanks. But whatever. Brandon: I just really hate the ORG attitude thing sometimes, such as when Ty was in the chat last night. I'm not a party-pooper or whatever the hell somebody would call me for thinking that, I just think it's idiotic. And after that, Brandon pretty much rolled over and died (thanks a lot Ty for scaring him away from our game!). He became a rock. Aaron and I didn't really hear from him again...but I'll get into Brandon's interesting situation more in Recap #3 or so. Ty finally left the chat and got over his not being cast in Circles of Trust (don't worry, there may or may not be a Circles of Trust 2). The players, on the other hand, left and went to form their Circles. Not many strategies formed in the first round, and people generally included those they knew. The Circles were as follows: BEN: Emma, Holly, Jason C., Yves BRANDON: Emma, James, Jason M., Yves EMMA: Jason C. ERIN: Holly, James, Jason C., Jason M., Paul, Emma HOLLY: Emma, James, Jason C., Jason M., Paul, Stacey, Yves JAMES: Erin, Holly, Jason C., Jason M., Paul, Stacey, Yves JASON C.: Emma, Holly, James, Stacey JASON M.: Holly, James, Yves NIKKI: Erin, Jason M., Yves PAUL: Erin, Holly, James, Jason C., Jason M., Nikki, Yves STACEY: Tyler TYLER: Stacey YVES: Ben, Holly, James, Jason C., Jason M., Nikki, Stacey From the lists, you could clearly tell who was the most influential in the game and who was not: Holly, though not acting with much strategy, had ended up on many list through socializing. Others like Tyler and Brandon, were barely on any lists at all, due to a lack of social game play. Furthermore, some penalties were given out this round: Andy had not posted his confessionals on time, and therefore received a penalty of -1 for next round. Tyler, however, received a penalty for not posting his confessionals at all; as said before, he never posted any confessionals, even though he did post a Circle of Trust, mainly because he wanted to save Stacey. With the Circles of Trust in, it was time to tally the totals and see who was on how many lists. The final results, with penalties included, were as follows: Holly: 7 James: 7 Jason C.: 7 Jason M.: 7 Yves: 7 Emma: 5 Stacey: 5 Erin: 3 Paul: 3 Nikki: 2 Ben: 1 Tyler: 1-1=0 Brandon: 0 Thus, the bottom 3 were Ben, Brandon, and Tyler. Andy was given 24 hours to make a decision. Ben was not particularly worried. Ben: I feel semi-safe this round. I've played with Andy in other games and I think we have a mutual relationship of being okay with each other. Andy, however, was struggling with his decision. Andy: I want to eliminate an inactive, or someone that thinks they are so good at ORGs. I can't stand arrogant people, or people who shouldn't be here, but alas, I'm not sure how many there are, and if they are the people that are nominated... Most others did not have a particularly strong opinion on who left, as there were 2 near-inactives up, along with Ben, who at the time was not a large concern for most players. Finally, Andy announced his decision publicly on the game's forum. Andy: "I am sorry that I have to base my feelings on who I believe to be inactive, when this may not even be the case. I have to eliminate someone, and I havent spoken to everyone, and for this I'm sorry to the three nominees because communication is a two way street...saying that, I choose to eliminate... TYLER I do this mainly as I said, because I haven't spoken to you. I am on a different time zone, however I am still on the majority of the time you are, and I know that Brandon and Ben could talk to me. It seems such a rubbish reason, and to be honest it is, but it's the only one I can think of." In this host's opinion, it was a good reason. Although Brandon would become a staple inactive during this game, at that current moment Tyler was not only intentionally acting inactive, but also attempting to float through the game AND annoying the host by making excuses for why he couldn't answer a 6 question confessional. He did, however, leave some final words: Tyler: "Go Stacey." And with that, Tyler left the game. The first round was completed. 13 players remained. Only one of them would end up becoming the winner...who would it be? Stay tuned, and find out! NEXT TIME ON CIRCLES OF TRUST: *A complex challenge greatly contrasts the previous one by baffling many of the players. *The winner of The Center and another player decide to take action and try to eliminate somebody they consider a threat. Will they succeed? *And at elimination, an extremely close tie threatens to send either a sweetheart or a social outcast to the Bottom 3. Which will it be? Find out, on the second recap of Circles of Trust! |
