The purpose of the VOLUNTEER GROUPS is to give COF II members the opportunity to also participate in other settings of the book club. It's also a way for members to get to know one another on a more intimate level. ALL MEMBERS ARE ASKED TO JOIN AT LEAST ONE VOLUNTEER GROUP in 2009 however; if you like, you can join more than one group!

ADVANCED READING GROUP: Responsible for advanced reading material submitted to Circle of Friends by authors/publishing companies. Also will assist in leading the book discussions at the monthly meetings. Responsible also for keeping a current list of suggestive reading for the book club and for distributing this list throughout the year. (IF YOU ARE A FAST READER, THIS IS THE GROUP FOR YOU)

CONSIDER IT DONE GROUP formerly known as the COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT GROUP: This group will make sure the book club is active at least quarterly in doing something in the community to promote literary and also will identify ways in which members can "volunteer" in community events/outings. In the past, we have read the terminally ill children, given holiday gifts to families, helped with Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry. (IF YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME DOING POSITIVE THINGS, THIS GROUP IS CERTAINLY FOR YOU).

FINANCIAL FREEDOM GROUP:This group has been formed to establish or enhance successful financial habits. Participants in this group will learn how to develop and manage a budget. Participants will also learn various methods to increase wealth and eliminate debt. (IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING DEBT FREE, THIS GROUP IS FOR YOU!)

HEALTHY LIVING GROUP: This group is for those who want to get and stay in better shapejoin this group and you will receive monthly health tips and more, also this group will do monthly weigh-ins. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HEALTHY LIVING, THIS GROUP IS CERTAINLY FOR YOU.

HOSPITALITY GROUP: Responsible for distributing the "birthday" & "new member" bags at the monthly meetings. Will serve as "greeters" for the monthly meetings & responsible for planning the annual Holiday Celebration as well and spear heading any special events. (IF YOU LIKE MAKING OTHERS FEEL WELCOME & HAVE A GREAT SMILE THIS IS THE GROUP FOR YOU)

JOURNAL WRITING GROUP: This group was put into place after our reading of E. Lynn Harris' If This World Were Mine several years ago. This group's main objective is to offer a more intimate atmosphere to those members who are active journalers, (those who like to write & also those who would enjoy some serious soul-searching) The group also serves as a FREE support group. (IF YOU LIKE TO WRITE, GROW & HEAL, THIS IS THE GROUP FOR YOU)

MEMBERS OF COF II MUST REMAIN ACTIVE IN THE BOOK CLUB TO REMAIN ACTIVE IN THE VOLUNTEER GROUPS! EACH ACTIVE MEMBER OF COF II IS ASKED TO ATTEND MEETINGS EACH MONTH (BOOK CLUB) AND TO PARTICIPATE IN OTHER BOOK RELATED EVENTS WHEN POSSIBLE. YOU ALSO MUST KEEP YOUR DUES CURRENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GROUPS.

THE TEAM LEADER AND OFFICER POSITIONS FOR EACH GROUP ARE VOLUNTEER BASED POSITIONS. IF THERE IS AN OPENING AND YOU ARE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF COF II, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO VOLUNTEER TO SERVE AS TEAM LEADER OR AN OFFICER.

**THE FINANICAL FREEDOM GROUP AND THE JOURNAL WRITING GROUP ARE GROUPS THAT NON-COF II MEMBERS CAN BE A PART OF.

READING TAKES US THERE...ONE BOOK AT A TIME!
