I knew that this day would eventually come
Where I must fulfill the prophecy by the beating of the drum.
I was taken from you, but not without a promise
I would leave you with the Holy Spirit to help you keep your calmness.
I knew that what I must do, was for your benefit not mine,
But I can't help but to wonder do you keep this in mind?
As I watch the world grow up filled with hate,
I often remember what had happened in that place.
You know, the place where I was tried,
Next to two prisoners that were there when I died.
But you were there too, don't you recall?
As I looked past the crowd I saw you hiding behind a wall.
I know that you care, and
try to love with your heart,
But you must know the truth; to be saved we must not part.
I paid the price with my blood for your sins,
And as you fall into temptation, you curse and you grin.
I cannot help but to
remember the love that my Father waived,
As he gave his only son, you he forgave.
But not just you, everybody in this world,
He even took the sting of death and to oblivion it was hurled.
Even though you say that
you are a part of me,
You also have to lead the life I lead and be everything I want you to be.
I do not ask for much, just to follow the Ten Commandments and such...
It's all there in the book that you say you follow
Except when it comes to saving, then you leave their hearts and minds hollow.
The message that I am
trying to reach out to tell
Is that if you stray from my Word, your sacred eternity will be spent in Hell.
Please don't forget the things I asked you to do,
And when the day comes I will meet you in the air too.
