Originally formed as a 2 piece, lead singer/songwriter Ian and guitarist/songwriter Dallas got together in 2002 and began writing songs for a theorized band.
In late 2002, the drummer Matt met Dallas through coincidence at a fair in Victoria. As fate had it, Ian and Dallas needed a drummer and Matt wanted to start a music project, so they got together and played as a band for some months before "breaking up" due to life complications.
8 months after the break-up, having still been in contact, Ian and Dallas found up a bass player named Tyson and made a 3 piece band, giving them the chance to revive some of their olds songs.
With songs written and a solid foundation for a band, they sought out their old drummer Matt and finally, in May of 2004, reunited to form the rock band CIPHER. |
