Easy Baked French Toast
Select your favorite bread (white, potato, egg, french).
Up to 24 hours before making french toast separate slices of bread so they can dry out. (Put them on cake racks or oven racks.) By drying the bread it will soak up eggs and milk for a better taste!
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
In a shallow dish add 6 eggs and 1-1/2 cups milk (1 egg and 1/4 cup milk for every 2 slices of bread), 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup butter (melted) or canola oil.
With fork or wire whisk, beat until well mixed.
Cut 12 slices of bread in half diagonally.
Dip bread slices in egg & milk mixture, turn to coat both sides (I let it set for 10 seconds on each side to really soak up the mixture). Place in one layer in a buttered jelly-roll pan (or cake pans can be used).
Bake 5 minutes, turn slices, bake an additional 5 minutes. You can bake 2 pans of toast at one time.
Serve with bacon or sausage and your favorite syrup or topping.
