Cindonway Shores
This is the third year for our Tuesday Night Ski League. We have had a lot of fun and a good turn out the beginning two years. We start in June and continue through out the summer. The list of the events for the season are listed under the Events in the Ski League category. We start at 5:00 on a first come first serve basis. You can come out and watch the others or if you can't get here and show up at 7 and need to leave by 8 we try to please everyone.   Even if your goal is to become a better slalom skier, we can show you how to ride your slalom ski better and make it more fun. Each participant will recieve 6 passes at the Slalom course or 6 passes up and down the lake.  One of three  nationally ranked slalom skiers will give you tips on how to ride your ski better, finding a speed that works best for you and how to make the slalom course easier. Then the idea is to go home and work on what you've learned on the open water, or at your course at home. Then the next week you come and hopefully can apply some things you learned and can advance to the next tip.   Then on a tournament night, We'll start you at your desired speed and run the slalom course in consecutive passes till you miss or fall, keeping score like a regular tournament. That will be the score for the tournament night. Then we'll continue until your 6 passes are complete. On tournament nights we'll have a small cook out and awards. Then for the remaining weeks we do the same and hopefully by the end of the season you'll be skiing better and making more bouys. At the end of the season we'll recap the summer with most improved and other awards.
The summer of 2001 was the first year of the Cindonway Shores Ski League and was found to be a big success. Everyone had a lot of fun with it. Some came for the evening and watched, and some came to ski and leave. We had people trying to make the coarse for the first time, some trying to better their skills to make more passes, people that always wanted to try it but didn't know how to get involved, and even some that just wanted to ride their ski better. We welcome anybody that wants to better their skiing skills.
Although the basics of the Ski League will always remain the same from year to year, we are always trying to find ways to make it more interesting.  For 2003 we're looking at trying to do a bigger tournament format with teams. So stay tuned.
