North vs. South Tournament Well the first North vs. South NSL Tournament is done. 24 skiers made up rosters for the tournament with 12 skiing the NSL format and 12 skiing the class C portion. This was a pretty relaxed tournament catering to the NSL division of the sport. As they arrived on site al NSL skiers were allowed 2 familiarization passes. Then the tournament with it's own scoring format started at 9. Everyone was offered 3 rounds of skiing. The NSL division got a minimum of 4 passes. Their best pass in round one would be their base score. Then the other 2 rounds would recieve a "+" or "-" , the differance from their base score, for thier respective teams. C class skiers skied USAW rules for class c tournaments but used the same scoring format as NSL for their respective teams. It looked to be a pretty close scoring system through the whole tournament see sawing back and forth by only a few points through both rounds of skiing. Till the final 2 skiers of the day for the North, who both had disappointing scores in the 2nd round came back to better thier scores putting the North up by 20 to win the team points. This was a fun tournament and everyone got plenty of skiing. Thanks to all that participated. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Cindonway Open This was a great event for the NSL level of competitors. We had some kids of our regular competitors come out and ski with thier familys. Lauren and Morgan came out and skied in the same tournament as their dad Jeff. The whole Clark family came out and skied some of their best performances. Chris CLark ran a nice 38 off pass in a E class part of the tournament while his wife Alicia skied a few passes in the NSL portion and their son Lake has some good skiing posture going for him as he skied some passes in the NSL event. Brad's son Bryan Beerman skied the NSL too as Brad skied the E class. This was a great tournament to see some of our regular competitors able to bring their kids out to ski in the same tournament as thier parents, and from what we've seen I believe we have some great kids comming up to keep the skiing interesting in the years to come. ______________________________________________________
Nick Steller - Cuttin it up here at the Cindonway Open. Nick comes from Sylvin Lake in Rome City In. Nick's been sking the Tuesday night learn to ski clinics the last two years. Nick's another skier with alot of natural talent, making 32 mph after just a few tries. Nick shows alot of desire and only missed a few nights cause of a finger injury. ____________________________
Lake Clark. Son of Chris and Alicia, this 9 year old Lake, shows some great potential on his slalom ski. Is that some text book form or what? Keep it up and he'll be right up there with his dad. _______________________________
