Contraindications/Notes
Black cohosh should not be used during
pregnancy and lactation or in chronic disease.
High doses may lead to nausea and vomiting.
Women taking estrogen therapy should consult
a physician before taking black cohosh.

Active Constituents and Effects

It contains resin, bitter (I'll say!) glycosides, ranunculin
(which changes to anemonin upon drying),
salicylic acid, tannin, and phytoestrogens.
