Sorority, Inc. and Sheri Adams of Delta SigmaTheta Sorority, Inc. discussed a need for the Black Greek Letter Organizations in Chester to reform alliances. On January 17, 1998 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. met to form what is now the Chester Inter-Greek Council (CIGC). In 2002, the Council was pleased to welcome Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to it's membership.
