| Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Interaction of Host-Pathogen Fields of my major interests include: 1. Symbiosis of Sinorhizobium meliloti- Medicago sp (Dr. Sobra's lab at VBI, USA) 2. Metagenome- discovery of novel genes/useful products from environment (Dr. Charles' lab at the Univ. of Waterloo, Canada). 3. Plant resistance mechanisms against pathogens, transgenic plants (Dr. Paul's lab at the Univ. of Guelph, Canada). 4. Molecular ecology and mechanisms of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), interactions of pathogen-plant-biocontrol agents (Dr. Defago's lab at ETH, Switzerland). 5. Genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and physiology of antibiotics-producing Pseudomonas spp, Bacillus spp biocontrol strains; and the diversity of key microbial genes involved in biocontrol of plant diseases (Dr.G. Defago's lab in Switzerland and Dr. Zhou & Dr. Wang's lab in China). |
