~ Chapter 4 ~
I felt a hand in my hair.
"Mmm," I groaned, before falling back to sleep.
   *************************************************
   "Jessie?"
"What?" I grumbled, still half asleep.
  "We're here."
My eyelids flew open. That's when I realized I was sleeping in JC's lap.
I shot up, embarrassed. I put my hair up again.
"Ok. Here's the plan. We go in, pay-"
  "Who's paying?"
  "Me. Well anyway-"
  "Uh uh."
"Fine. We'll split. I pay for mine. You pay for yours," I compromised.
  "Fine."
  **********************************************
After I stuffed my clothes in the rental locker, I turned to JC.
"So what do you wanna do now?" I asked.
  He just stared.
"Hello?" I said, waving my hand in front of his blank face.
  "Uh what?"
"God C. What. Do. You. Wanna. Do?" I drawled.
"I dunno. YOU should be showing ME around," he pointed out.
"Ok. I'll do that. On to Tidal Wave Bay!"
  "Um Jessie?"
  "What?"
"Shouldn't we warm up first?" he asked.
"Oh Joshy it IS to warm up."
  "Oh. Ok then."
I practically dragged him over to the 'Bay'. It looked calm and the people seemed to be impatient.
"Ok. Now what you do is: you grab an intertube and the waves go on for 10 minutes every 10 minutes. Now c'mon!" I urged.
"Ok, ok." He picked up an intertube. He scrunched his nose. "MUST they be pink?"
"Oh i know. But we gotta deal."
I led him over to a spot where I knew the waves would crash into him. I cleared the danger area a few feet.
  BRING!
  "That's the bell!"
  "Ok, ok!"
Before I knew it, there was a gigantic wave coming at JC...WITH PEOPLE ON IT!
  'Oh my god!' I thought,
And those were the last words JC uttered before the collasal wave enveloped him.
As I fought to stay in my spot as a small wave came up.
JC emerged from the water, drenched to the bone.
  "Come 'ere you little-"
  Another wave cut him off.
I took that moment to escape.
  ********************************************
Finally, the waves calmed, allowing me to get up. I made my way toward the 2 chairs JC and I claimed.
"AH!" I yelped, feeling myself being lifted up.
  "Ha ha."
I looked down at the familiar muscular body beneath me, the same one holding me prisoner.
"LET ME DOWN!!" I cried, pounding on his wet back.
  "Payback time," he cackled..
I struggled for about 5 more minutes before he set me down.
"What the HECK was that for?" I demanded, crossing my arms.
  "Payback."
"What kind of payback was that?!"
  "A good kind," he laughed.
I tried to keep my mad face on, but I failed and started laughing.
"Ok, ok. What else is there here?" he asked.
  "There's a ride over there." I pointed.
I could tell he didn't get it, so I linked my arm with his, feeling more at ease with him now.
"C'mon," I said, dragging him with me.
"There it is," I said, pointing to the large ride.
  "Wow. That is cool."
"And it's a lot cooler being ridden, not stared at."
I looked up at the huge pile of intertubes.
  "Wanna go together?"
  "Sure."
So, with his help, I grabbed a double intertube (yes there is such a thing)
Once we reached the top, I went over to the right tube, one of the 3 tubes we could choose from.
  *******************************************
Once we went on all the tubes, it was already 1.
"Wanna stop for food?" I asked, feeling the emptiness in my stomach.
"I thought you'd never ask," he said, sounding relieved.
We waited in line for a short while, then we got our food, sitting down at a shaded table to eat.
JC looked at me and asked, "So you got any brothers or sisters?"
I looked up at his face. I never noticed how captivating his eyes were.
  "Jessie?"
"Uh, yeah?" I asked, embarrassed at my spacing out.
"Are you gonna answer my question?" he asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Oh yeah. I have one annoying as hell brother."
  "Younger?"
  "Uh huh."
  "Annoying as hell?"
"Yeah. At least, that's the only way i can put it without using any extremely harsh language."
  He chuckled.
The rest of the conversation was very basic. He asked a lot of questions about my life and ny background, which he seemed to be very intrigued with.
I felt like I was talking to one of my lifelong friends. He didn't seem to be a superstar at all. He seemed so normal.
  Finally, we were done eating.
"What rides can we go on now?" he asked, throwing away the leftovers.
"Since we just ate, I think we'll go on Sunset River," I suggested, making my way through the crowd, pulling JC's hand with me.
When I felt the familiar jolt of electricity, I wondered if he felt it too.
