Another Manifesto of Fanatic Apathy?
Introduction
The 7th Draft of Neither the Government nor the Population was written between September 2001 and December 2003 as a successor and update to the 6th Draft. It is partly a response to the events of September 11, 2001 and its aftermath. I was not surprised and even less sympathetic to the government than before (if such a thing is possible). I had been telling people for over a year something of the sort would happen after reading Ahmed Rashid. In addition, as I relate Here and Here, I found myself a target of its aftermath due to old taxi I drove. Needless to say, I was even less charitable. Indeed, since December 2003, I have found it necessary to redact several afterwards for being way too over the top. Cheap shots are too easy. Even the Shadow has limits.
