Mike started his competitive mushing career in the '80s with purebred Siberian Huskies of the Seppala racing strain. Those original Seppalas and their offspring have since died of old age. The current Siberians in the kennel come from Northome kennel and from a breeding between one of our Northome dogs and a Ramro/Anadyr line bitch.
Janet got her team started with dogs from Jim Orvis's excellent sprint kennel. Those bloodlines come from Harris Dunlap and a smattering of Beland, Erhart, and Neal Johnson.
Mike's and Janet's teams were combined upon their marriage in 2001. The kennel was augmented by breeding to some of the best studs in the country, notably Peppy(Swingley), Ash(Johnson), and Pinto(T. Streeper).
