Individual Members

This is where I talk about the individual voices that make *NSYNC. There aren't any huge bios or anything, just my opinions on them.

"Heeeey you!! Need a lil' 'AAH!' in your step? Well try this on for size, it's POP!!" - JustiN Randall Timberlake

Let's see, what to say about Justin...easily the most popular of the *NSYNCers(Arguably the most popular male idol, period), and in my opinion the most hyped and judged. It'd be so easy to make fun of him. Do you realize the power I possess over this poor guy? It'd be so easy to say that he's got an annoying voice or that he's unfashionable or that he's an egotistical and arrogant little brat or that he's just a typical teen idol or that he lies about dating Britney. I could just abuse the crap outta him! I could! I have the power! I just might!

But I won't:). In fact, I have every intention of defending this talented young man.

First of all, his voice does sound slightly scratchy, but it's no denying that he's got great pitch and has innate musical talent. That fact that he can manipulate his vocals so freaking masterfully kind of overlap the fact that he might have a little screech in his throat. Do I sound jealous? Oh, I am. Sigh. I think he has a great voice and has a lot of talent for using it. And J has been writing a lot more for *NSYNC recently, and what can I say? His works is great. Just very impressive, considering his image before as kinda the immature baby, and now...he's just an ideal person.

I think he's the kind of guy that everyone can get to like once you get over how much better he is than you;). Lol.

I can see how he can be viewed as having a big ego, especially with the latest hype. On the other hand, he has a right to be, don't you agree? It doesn't make him a bad person; I wish I had the privilege to a big ego(Sometimes I do, but it's usually a phase). As long as he isn't going around seriously boasting about how cool he is compared to all other organisms meld by God and flashing his bare arse to get girls screaming(In joy, I assume), I'm cool with it. A little egotism is usually healthy. Actually I've heard that Justin is really shy in person. Who knows? Not me. But it's undeniable that he has a natural confidence in performance, and that's a good thing. As long as he's a good person and keeps grounded...what's the harm?

I'd be the first to dismiss Justin as a typical teen idol, but I mean...do you even read his interviews!? The guy is intelligent and full of heart. One of my favorite interviews with him is surprisingly the Arena Homme Plus article...it was a great read.

Ah, yes, the Britney factor...yeah, he's dating her. No, I don't care, in fact if anything I'm all the more happier for them. The only annoying part is when the media can't seem to keep off of them and as a result we are bombarded with news everyday of them either getting married or getting tattoos on their bums or getting killed...getting a bit old now, folks;). I mean I love those two but I really don't need to be informed on 99999999 different websites whenever either one of them farts or something, lol.

So anyway, my opinion on Justin is this: He seems like an great individual, and has done many things that get a big yay from me, but in high school he probably would've been one of those people that I don't make friends with easily on account of mine being too jealous of their being too cool. Is that a sentence? We probably would have known each other because we have similar interests but ultimately there would be that "distance" between individuals that most high school students know very well.

"That's from my shirt, jerkoff!!" - ChriS Alan Kirkpatrick"

What I say about Chris may surprise you. Mr. Christopher Kirkpatrick is the probably the member that I have the most in common with, despite him being more than ten years older than me. We're physically similar: Kinda not-as-tall-as-the-other-guys, a little stout, not exactly the sexiest monkey(Though in Chris' case some people might argue otherwise), and self-proclaimed crazy. Yes, Chris is generally known as the crazy one, and all my friends refer to me as the weird and crazy one. A lot of people get annoyed at him for his attitude, but me, I can relate to it. It's a little like a cry for attention, but not nearly so drastic. More like a trait about yourself that you've found others enjoy and thus decide to bring it out a bit. I'm sure that if all the other members suddenly decided to say, "Chris, you're freaked, we hate that 'crazy' thing you do, stop it, you're gonna make us hurl," then he would seriously consider toning it down. But I doubt it. Say it wit' me Chris, "We're weird, and by golly cheesecakes, we're proud of it!" It's part of his nature. It's not immature; It's Chris. And Chris is good. Yeah, you wanna fight about it!?

Another thing I can relate to Chris is our voice: He's the high Tenor of the group, and when I was in high school, in our barbershop quartet, that's the part I took. So I have a fair bit of experience in what Chris deals with. See my music section for more details. High Tenor isn't exactly too hard to sing if you know how, but most of it is in falsetto, which is a challenge that makes most male singers cringe, and harmonizing's a bozatch. In my limited opinion, Chris does an excellent job and his solos aren't bad either. Most people think Chris has a funny tone to his voice, but that's just what falsetto sounds like. You hear the other guys(sans Lance)doing it sometimes. And see, Chris has vibrato. He sings High Tenor and he has vibrato and an otherworldly tone. That's hard. I couldn't do it. But see, that's why Chris is cool!

And as you've probably guessed by now, whatever the heck Chris' age is doesn't affect me in the slightest. I'm sure that it frustrates the heck out of millions of teenyboppers who can't accept the fact that people over 26 can be excellent musicians and boggles the bejesus out of those who can't accept *NSYNC as anything other than a boyband, but to most people it shouldn't make any difference. I know that many of you use this in your humor sites, but please, "Grandaddy Chris" is getting old. Yikes, was that a pun!? I meant to sound serious. Anyway, calling someone in his late twenties a grandfather is frightening, not funny, and it doesn't make any sense. I don't consider his age to be a liability, and I actually admire Mr. Kirkpatrick for being able to retain his childishness even while adding his experience to *NSYNC.

I didn't learn this until about the time the second album came out: Chris was the founder of *NSYNC. Mad props to him. Let's see, I think he called either JC or Justin, and one of them called the other, and then two of the three knew Joey who they found in a bar and then his coach got Lance. Wait, was it Joey's coach? I can't remember now. Maybe Lance's coach found them. No, wait, did Joey have the same coach as Lance? Actually, it was Justin's, I believe, who got in contact with Lance. I'm pretty sure. Almost. Arg. I'm going crazy. Or maybe I already am. Didn't I say that I was already crazy?

And also, can I have a Hell yeah for Busta? I also have a scrappy little dog, by the way. These similarities are beginning to get eerie. I'd freak if I turn out exactly like Chris in ten years. On the other hand, I can only dream that when I turn 29 I can be in a group like *NSYNC.
Ooh, and Busta's got a new little(adopted)sister named Korea! She's so cute. She's even more wrinkleball than Busta, if that were at all possible.

And yes, FuManSkeeto...big, big props to him. A'ight? For now it's just beginning to get attract attention but you know, I see big things for it. Chris himself is deemed founder/CEO/God of the company or something...I'm not sure.

To sum it up with Chris, he's a likeable and underrated guy whom I respect immensely. But again, I probably wouldn't have hung out with him if he went to my high school. I like me, I really do. Trust me, I'm one of my favorite people. I just can't stand other people who are like me:) Oh just kidding. I think. Big props to Chris, a'ight?

"What a boner!...Can I say 'boner?'" - JoeY Anthony Fatone Jr.

Joey...He's my true idol. One day, I plan to look at myself and think, "You did good, BrianWilly, for you have become Joey." Well...to be anal and stuff, Joey is probably the *NSYNCer who I'm most like anyway. I know I said that Chris and I have the most in common, but that doesn't mean that I'm like Chris. I'm more like Joey...like, as a person and stuff.

I used to have a section right about here on the page where I ranted against all the lameazz morons that made fun of Joey and questioned his morality and manhood...nowadays, I guess I've just moved beyond that a bit. I still believe that this guy is totally undeserving of half the amount of criticism thrown at him across the internet and wouldn't hesitate to speak my mind about those types of people who debase him like that but...I guess I just moved beyond it a bit. *shrugs*

Many fans have noticed Joey's immensely underrated ability to sing. I admit, I didn't even notice it until I saw them on SNL and I found that it was JOEY doing that awesome, soulful solo in "I Thought She Knew."("I'd sell my sooouul to have this sih-lehnce broken...") Then I remembered that Fox Family Channel *NSYNC 'N Concert I taped and rewound back to "Celebration," which Joey had the solo all the way through. I was amazed. Why the @#$%^&* didn't I watch this before!? This man truly is awesome. I was always jealous of JC, Chris and Justin's voices, now this...D*MN*T, WHY DO ALL OF YOU HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!??
OKAY!!!

Joey is also the first *NSYNCer to have recorded a complete solo work since the group started..."Ready to Fall," for the movie On the Line. I love this song. I loved it when Meredith did it and now Joey just WOW adhjfbnfmna.

Now, I have never Joseph Fatone Jr. in person, so I do not know of his true personality. But from what I've seen, he's a funloving, unintimidating bozo. He's the type of person that I feel I could've made friends with if he were in my high school: Someone who isn't afraid to laugh at himself, at others, but knows the limits and respects them, basically, the type of ideal person I try to be everyday. And he's always trying to be funny and isn't afraid of others' opinions. How many times times have I tried to be funny on this site and failed? See, that's another!

Joey's career as an actor is also interesting...it was his first love. He was very involved in high school drama, and I've heard that he's appeared in several movies(Nothing major up until On the Line), but can't think of any off the top of my head. I do know that he's going to be in an upcoming movie associated with Tom Hanks called "Big Fat Greek Wedding"(O_O!?). He'll be playing Angelo, and the only summary I can get of that movie as of today is this..."A young Greek-American woman falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her heritage and cultural identity." Sounds interesting, even if he doesn't have a great big part. I personally think Joey is the best actor out of the five...I saw a VH1 Before They Were Rock Stars and it had an episode where it focused on *NSYNC and it showed Joey during a HS play for Macbeth...and he was out there, really impressed me from the little clip that I saw(this was last year before I really knew that he had any movie aspirations or I saw him as the ultimate character of Rod;), so I'd say I was being fairly unbiased).

Joey is a father; his longtime girlfriend Kelly gave birth to Brianna Fatone around March 2001. And let me just take a moment to reflect on how cool it is that Joey practically named her after me. Reflecting...reflecting...done.
Some "people"(using the term very lightly)look down on Joey for having a child...I respect him for taking responsibility, being a man, and loving his daughter. And I support his decision to keep Brianna out of direct public scrutiny. Lance is her Godfather. How cute is that? That's just cute.

I try and like *NSYNC because of their music, not because of any opinions I may or may not have on the guys. But it's hard because the guys bring so much of themselves into the music itself. Especially with Joey. I truly wish to meet him someday, if only to thank him for being Joey and to encourage him to keep it up.

"These burgers need to cook FASTER!!!" - James Lance "LansteN" Bass

I had a hard time finding a picture for Lance because in everyone of his pictures it's like he's staring at me with those big scary eyes and willing me to jump off a bridge. Never mind.

Let's see...Lance. I really do have a lot to say about him but don't really know how to formulate it into words...it's nothing negative, I do luff the guy, it's just hard to translate that affection you know?

Lance here has very few real solos, and I doubt the numbers will ever increase dramatically. See my music section for more details. It's a bass thing. Still, I'm pretty sure Lance is aware of his importance as being a bass and an irreplacable part of the group. Without him, they'd just be four guys with really high voices named NSYC. Or maybe SYNC. CYNS? YCSN? SNYC? Snick!

Anyway, on to the whole Lance mascera issue...I've heard from some people that Lance looks like a woman. Well, I didn't know how any of you can mistake a guy with such a low butch voice for a woman, until I saw some older pics from Europe. Momentary pause to shudder and hold back the vomit(Lance sympathizers, I'm sorry, I really am! But you gotta admit!) I'm fairly certain Lou just altered the images for his own masturba...er...I mean...master...copies. Do I think he looked mighty fruity? Yep. But then again, I thought Ryan Phillippe looked mighty fruity also, yet off he goes to get married and have a baby. Hmm, maybe if I think of Lance as a fruitier guy he'll go off and have a baby too. It's worth a try. Stop listening to me. Please?
Well anyway if he ever did, that's a thing of the past anyway;)...these days Da Lanstenator is as manly as ever. I mean, check out his role in On the Line! Not at all feminine if ya ask me lol.
Either Lance or Joey have said before that acting is the way that they release their excess creativity much in the sense that Justin and JC do it through songwriting, and that's something I(think I)totally understand.

And Lance used to be the shy one...well for sure that's one image that didn't last;).

I've also seen on many websites that many people don't seem to think Lance can dance. It's true that he didn't have dancing experience before *NSYNC and struggles to keep up with serious veterans and stuff, but c'mon, he good. He's really good. I mean, he learned this jack in a really short amount of time and he's better than most people ever will be. Can we say dedication? Talent? Skill? Bring down da house, Jimbo.

Lance seems like a real down to earth gentleman whose voice commands as much power as his actions. As a member of *NSYNC, he's able bring this warmth and passion into their music and dealings. Lately it's almost as if he's becoming the spokesperson for *NSYNC, taking care of the serious matters and the not-so-serious matters in interviews. I encourage this because Lance does have a commanding voice and natural gist for making people take him seriously. So maybe now more people will take *NSYNC seriously?

Lance has a corporation called Free Lance Entertainment, where I believe he manages several beginning artists...well, ain't we da businessman? From what I can tell he's doing a great job. And of course he's involved in A Happy Place.

"I, yes...I have to save, because...yes!" - Joshua Scott "JC" Chasez

Aah...JC the artiste. JC the visionary. JC the musician, the songwriter. JC the...sleeper!?

Lol, that's a weird image to be stuck with...

JC has said that it's not that he likes to sleep, it's that he doesn't like to wake up and that there's a difference...I wholeheartedly agree, JC. I actually dread falling asleep sometimes because I know I'll be woken up by that @#$%^&* alarm clock and I'll be pissed. So I'll just lie in bed wondering why they had to put the Materia system in Final Fantasy 7. And I'll just get sleepier and when I get up I'll be more pissed.

What can I say about Joshua Scott Chasez that hasn't been said by any other site in the *NSYNC multiverse? He's immense. The strongest singer of the five(not saying he's the best). Arguably the best dancer. Gets the best parts in songs. His talent is almost scary(Actually, I do think he's scary:p). I don't know how the heck he does that thing he does. When he sings, you listen. You're entranced. Young or old, American or European, male or female, fan or critic, Brian or Willy. It just happens. If you haven't figured it out, this guy is so good I'm @#$%^&* sick of him:)

Okay anyway you get the point. I don't really know that much about him personally, but I think JC's probably the "cool guy" of *NSYNC. A good head on his shoulders, balanced, the father figure. That's the impression I get from seeing him in interviews and specials. I admire JC for his apparent stabilty; He's probably the only stable one of the group:) That's only my theory, you realize. For all I know the "cool guy" might be Justin or Lance. The father figure might well be Joey. Or not. The general concensus on the net is that he's probably on crack. Watching him in performances, I'd be tempted to believe that if I didn't have so much faith in these guys. Still, I'll admit that he does seem like the type who'll suddenly shout AAAAAARRRRRGGGH at the top of his lungs and have his veins burst and make the other members cry(Note: No, JC is not on crack, I don't even have to know him that well to make that claim...though of course no one is denying that yes, he is scary;)).

There was some time in mid-2000 when I was a little worried about JC's voice, 'cause I heard him in the MTV Movie awards and it sounded like he was going haywire or something, but nowadays he's gettin' the groove back on, making us all worship our VCRs for giving us the oh-so-wonderous buttons, "record" and "rewind." He's also doing more and more with with his music, producing and writing for both *NSYNC and other artists, and in the third album they say their gonna do even more of their own work...sounds good to me:)!

JC is a songwriter as much as he is a musician, and if you heard some if his songs(as I'm sure you have...RIGHT!?)you'd agree with me that this is one freaking gifted person.

My nickname for JC: Shazay
