VH1's Before They Were Rock Stars

There was this VH1 "Before They Were Rock Stars" marathon that went on today(7/3/00)and, thanks to the wonders of digital cable, I was able to find out which episode contained primarily *NSYNC. They were in an episode between the Spice Girls and Britney Spears, and it was a basic look at the individual members and what they did before. Let us now venture into the world of pre-*NSYNC, and you'll have to pardon my rambling...

First of all, I just have to mention that this announcer guy is very annoying. I imagine that it would be very fun to kick his ***. He's all, "Ooh, they're all cute and crap, ooh, they're in it for the girls, ooh," would you like to shut up, now!? Just show us the *NSYNC.

Hey, look, it's Joey as...Macbeth!? I was never able to really get into that play, but it looks like Joey was:) Look at him go!
And then they showed scenes of him and his quartet, The Big Guys. They were immense! It looks like they made themselves really prominent, singing at big events and such. Wait, was Joey the tenor!? It actually sound like he's the lead. I would compare them to my own quartet, but we're primarily barbershop while it sounds like they've got a wide range(No pun intended). It even looks like they were on TV. What performers.

On to Chris. Chris, the experienced one. Chris, the guy with the hair. Chris...the football star? That must have been fun...being able to pump it up on the field and star in South Pacific. They didn't spend too much time on Chris, though.

JC. You frighten me. That rhymes. What glee. Anyway...
JC doing the Richard Marx song...well, at least he got better. Don't worry, JC, that's my favorite Richard Marx song, too. I wonder if they showed Rich that clip in order to get him to write "This I Promise You"? And then he pulled off some spasmic dance moves which were immensely spasmic, but still cool. See folks, that's why we had the Mickey Mouse Club. Why can't they show some reruns, da****!?

That geeky announcer's comment that Justin was the lead singer...that's one way of looking at it, I guess. I would never say it like that, but still.
Awww, wook at Q wittle Justy, all dwessed up and weady for an embarrassing Chwistmas act. No, it's alright, Justin. He was pretty good in a dancing-little-kid-tossing-candy sort of way. And of course they had to show that clip of "I'll Take You There." I mean really, what Justin flashback would be complete without it?

Lance...whoa. In a good way, I think. I mean...he looked...well...really 80's. That's the only way I can describe it. He was like one of those sidekick-types who would appear on "Growing Pains." And I guess I was wrong when I said that Lance had no dancing experience pre-*NSYNC. If you can call that dancing. They didn't really show enough of the Showstoppers, though. I mean they never really explained what it was all about.

So my conclusion on this little episode is that most fans will be able to do without it. I mean, if you really want to see cool and rare clips of moments from their previous performances and stuff, or you just wanna see Joey, d***it, then go ahead, but really it'd be much easier and more beneficial to catch that UltraSound episode. It only gave the most basic of *NSYNC info, and they didn't even show any clips from Universal Studios. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun-to-see, but not a must-see.
