MY LEAST FAVOURITE FILMS OF ALL TIME

In my opinion, these are real stinkers that you should stay away from at all cost. These aren't even good bad, they just plain stink. How do I define "bad?" Most of the films listed below have one common problem--they try to hard to be something--something cool, something thought-provoking, something with something to say. Gosh, they just try so hard! Another common feature of some of these films is their vague, enigmatic narratives. Being cryptic doesn't necessarily make it art, boys. I'll take a Terminator over a Matrix anytime. So, here we go with our stink-o-rama! Enjoy, and beware!

Being John Malkovich The most over-rated film of 1999, Being John Malkovich starts out promising but gets quickly mired down in a nightmarishly long and convoluted plot. The puppets are cool, though, and John Cusack is always worth watching.

Blankman Would somebody please explain to me the appeal of Damon Wayans? This clunker is so indescribably bad it's...well...not funny.

Brazil... ...or virtually anything else by Terry Gilliam for that matter. This is what happens when you give a half-crazed megalomaniac an unlimited budget and total control over a production. Sure, it's visually stunning, but it's also a bore, and confusing as heck too.

Canadian Bacon This was a real disappointment for die- hard fans of Michael Moore, director of the amazing Roger and Me. Perhaps the worst John Candy film ever made (no, wait, see Who's Harry Crumb), Canadian Bacon is so poorly conceived and executed that it almost takes your breath away. Stick to documentaries, Mikey.

JFK From out of the paranoid mind of yet another megalomaniac director (Oliver Stone) comes this ludicrous film which dangerously mixes truth with fiction. The result is an overly long and confusing mess. For an extra giggle, check out Kevin Costner's feeble attempt at a New Orleans accent.
