Real Chevy Volt Concept Car
Newspapers!!
Imagine a vehicle that looked like a 60's/70's muscle car, and yet was made with a fiberglas or lexan body, a titanium roll cage frame, an 18 hp diesel generator, and an electric motor. If you can keep the weight down to 900lbs, your gas mileage will approach 150 mpg.
Dave Arthurs 1980 Hybrid Modification. he did it in one week, for 1500 bucks.
Now imagine a 500 watt multipurpose digital sound system...
It's main purpose is to provide a fine stereo/cd/mp3/sat radio system. It's stealth purpose is to provide the engine and tire sounds of a real muscle car, chevy, ford, dodge, porsche, ferrari, etc. even the airplane whine of the '60s batmobile could be produced. The sound files would be tied to the accelerator, and engine computer, giving realistic motive sounds... even seat vibrations... The sound system would be used for fun, not at all times, preventing the large energy drain that would othewise occur!
Safety would be handled by a titanium alloy roll cage, and advanced air bag, and external air bumper designs...  The air bumpers would be ir/collision proximity deployed, and would improve your chances in an ultralightweight vehicle collision. Crash avoidance systems like auto braking would help too.
This is a real 157mpg german made LOREMO
