I had taken a workshop before where we used vellum and stencils to create a very nice image over dark paper.  The only thing that I'm not satisfied with is how the double sided tape is seen through the vellum.  So, lesson learned: don't used double sided tape if you're going to stick vellum onto dark paper.  If you can't see it clearly, the stamp in the middle reads, "Christmas is the time to remind us that we're all in the world together", which was perfect for my friends living abroad.
I had splurged on some more Christmas stamps and one of them was a background stamp of a bunch of snowflakes.  I thought it would be perfect for the dark green paper, especially if it was embossed.  I threw in a couple of pointsettia cut-outs and a Merry Christmas and voila!  :)  One tip a friend told me to use was not to use my scissors when I needed to cut out words, shapes or what not, because if you tear the paper neatly, it gives it more of a natural look instead of a hard edgy block that offsets the card.
I was going for a simple look this year.  So, I used a couple new stamps for the magic shrink plastic and kinda veared away from the traditional red and green colors for this card.
Again, I had bought a few new things for my cards this Christmas.  One of them was the "Season's greeting" stencil and the a reindeer stamp.  The Magic Shrink came to be pretty handy when I wanted something simple but nice.
