I had just came back from buying a really useful polka-dotted stamp that I immidiately thought of using on a Birthday card!  May is a big birthday month for me, so I decided to get a head start. The butterflies were made using a different kind of embossing powder that gave the color that it was put on nice pastel hues.  So instead of blaring pink blue and green butterflies, I decided to soften things up a bit.  It also leaves a slightly yellow shimmer on paper, which can sometimes be used to give a nice sparkling effect.
I had just gone on a shopping spree at the rubber stamp shop in the mall and I came back with a whole bunch of new stamps.  One of them was this slice of birthday cake!  So I just haaad to use it! ^_^  I wanted to do something I'd never done before, which was stenciling in actual words.  I never attempted to try before, because it would really take me a long time to place each letter to where it should be.  This time, I made it work and even added some glitter glue to the edges, which is something I haven't used since the last time I made that big bouquet!
