This is a small 2.5x3.5 in. birthday card that I put together on a last minute notice. Since I didn't have much time to work with, I decided to just use the premade stickers from Jean Co. I then thought that it was missing something, so I added some wire. This is probably the fastest card that I've made. It only took me twenty mintues to finish it. Hope it doesn't look like I took twenty minues... ^_^;; |

I was playing around with patterns and started out with the beige overlapping the pink paper. I then added the wire and flowers. The flowers were a tough decision, because I only had a few kinds of ready-made stickers that were flowers and none of them really matched with the pink. There were tulips, daisies and then these daffodils. I finally decided on the daffodils, because the tulips would stand out too much against the background, and the daisies would just dissapear since they're white. The daffodils had the right combination of both. I then used my Happy Birthday stamp and mixed and matched yellow with teal to get a splotchy look. I originally wanted to make it yellow on top and then teal on the bottom, but after a few practice stamps on blank paper, I thought that blending them together looked more natural. Lastly, I used double sided tape to stick it to the green card to give it a frame and set everything in place. |

This was a simple card to make for my dad's birthday. I didn't want it to be too western, so I went for a more oriental touch. The character on the front is "Sou", which stands for longevity. The characters inside say "happy birthday" in Chinese. I used a Chinese font I had on word and printed the characters out. I put them under my light table and traced them with a red felt tip marker. So it was actually quite easy. The hardest part about this card was trying to cut out the "Sou" on the front... very tedious. |
