CHUA Service Unit Monthly Meetings -- -----First United Methodist in High Springs-

Meeting Dates:

August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th

Cookie Training: December 4th, 2002 - Training will replace December's Service Unit meeting.

November Neighborhood meeting: Pot Luck Thanksgiving Dinner - Nov. 7th -6:30

Chua Spagetti Dinner - December 6th 2002 - Alachua Elementary Cafeteria - 6:30 - 8:30. Tickets go on sale Thursday October 3rd. Earn a half hour volunteer time for each ticket sold! The troop that sells the most tickets will receive a gift certificate for 10% of total sales, good towards the Gainesville Girl Scout Store. Volunteering to help planning, or just showing up to support Chua at the dinner will count towards volunteer hours. Donations go to the Chua Neighborhood. Question?? Ideas!! e-mail Joy Campbell.

 

Kateri Weekend campout : Confirmed - April 11, 12, 13, 2003……… Contact Marie Calhoun for volunteering information. (Volunteer hours go towards cookie booths )

Hiyo Day Camp - Next year's theme is "Keeping Cool" Contact Kim Ice for volunteering information. (Volunteer hours go towards cookie booths )

Bus Buddies………………. Bus buddies is a program created by Kim for daisy girl scout's 1st week, or so, of school. A brownie will team up with a daisy to help ease the stress of riding the bus and finding their way to class. For more information contact Kim Ice. Kim will be out of town next year and is looking for someone to help. Please contact her if you're able to volunteer.

Leader Training Schedules-

Basic Leader Training Level 1 - For new and perspective troop leaders. Prepares new leaders to begin meeting with parents and girls. Receive forms and resources to aid in troop management, learn to facilitate meetings, and network with volunteers. Attend Basic Leadership Level II in four to six weeks. Time spent - 3.5 hours Tuesday, September 10th or Thursday September 12th - High Springs First Methodist Church 6:30 -10:00 pm

Basic Leader Training Level II - Designed to give continued learning for leaders. Should be taken with a month to 6 weeks after completion of BLT I. Tuesday, October 15 - High Springs First Methodist Church 6:30 -10:00 pm.

CPR/1st Aid - 9/28/02 & 12/7/02 in Gainesville (8:00 am to 6:00 pm)
