CLASS OF '57

REUNION 2002

SATURDAY Night – Dinner at JAY’s uptown on the North side of the square – Special guests were Wanda and Pedro Garcia – a good time was had by all. Kathy Burks Hunter passed out a drawing of the town square and asked us to name the stores that were there in 1957, that was a challenge. We split into groups – but an air of everybody helping everybody prevailed. Or was that "competing" with everybody else…. it was fun anyway. Frank Snyder shared some trivia, then asked if anyone had any special memories of any teacher or any other person who has affected their lives even throughout the years after school. Several teachers were mentioned – with nods of agreement around the room for each one. NOW .. Here’s what you’ve been waiting for – THE PICTURES.

Can you still wear your Cardinal Jacket? Jim Lewis can!

Did you notice the bricks on the tables holding down the balloons? Those bricks were salvaged from our now demolished high school building. Junior McCall hauled them in for us, and although we didn't have enough to give one to everyone, most people who wanted one managed to get either a whole brick or at least a part of one. They should make great door stops. I never would have believed it .. I now have a brick that has sentimental value. The 45 rpm vinyl records are from Kathy Hunter's saved collection. Does anyone still have a turntable that will play these things? We've given in to the Cd technology though - using many of the titles from that stack of records, we came up with a CD of 50's favorites as table favors, plus had some of our favorites playing in the background.
