What Akbar did for the empire
Having a huge conquest, extending up from Afghanistan to the Bay of the Bengal and North from the Himalays and the Godavari River, the Mughal Empire spanned to be extremely large. However, not all the land was gained from conquests, most were either anexxed or gained through alliances. Akbar's army, though extremely strong, was mostly used to suppress the uprisings by the Afghans at that time.
Comparison to Asoka : Most of Asoka's lands were obtained through conquests, though he stopped after the battle of Kalinga. During peacetime, he hradly used his army as the country was very prosperous and stable and nobody rebelled.
After establishing his empire after nine years of hard work, Akbar established a new capital at Agra , later moving it to Fatehpur Sikri, forty miles away. This was the home of a renowned holy man who had accurately predicted the birth of his three children. Here, Akbar started his building legacy, where he built more than twenty famous buildings including the Agra fort.
Comparison to Asoka : Asoka also constructed many features, particularly pillars, which had the aim of spreading Buddhism.
