There are no words to explain the love that my wife gives to me. She has supported my endeavors as a firefighter, and as a husband. She never complained about my constantly being gone when I was a volunteer and even with as close to home as the losses that I have gone through in the fire department she has never, not even once hinted that she wants me to quit. On the night of the second fire I ever fought (Sierra Pines Apartments) I had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and had a wall that was on fire collapse on me from three stories up, pinning me to the ground. This frightened my wife greatly, when I told her about it, and yet she never once asked me to quit. She did ask me not to tell her about close calls though. I can't blame her for that. Above all else, what makes my wife so amazing is her love of God and the way that she chooses to live her life. We are now expecting a baby, our first! Though tired all the time, she still pushes to be at work every day, to make certain that there is food in the fridge for me, to push me to be better as a fireman and a husband, and to be that virtuoius woman that is indeed a crown unto her husband. She is exactly that! |
