Tons of original stories, free for the reading. Also a good place to post original stories. No x-rated stories.
The web's largest collection of fan fiction, from almost any series you can think of. Stories are submitted by their authors, and cannot be x-rated or based on works whose owners do not tolerate fan fiction. As such, you'll need to look elsewhere for certain stories, and there are large numbers of low quality or mediocre stories. However, with a collection this vast, a little searching and you're bound to find something good. It's also a great place to go if your story fits their guidelines and you need a place to post it.
An "addventure" is a "user extensible" story. Like a Round Robin, different authors can take turns writing a story - however, unlike Round Robins, addventures branch, allowing different authors (or the same author if so inclined) to take the story in different directions. Anime Addventure is devoted to Anime fan fiction addventures (and crossovers including anime characters).
Web Comics

The misadventures of Elliot (teenage anime-style martial artist), Tedd (teenage mad scientist), and their friends. Be prepared for gender changing, furry transformations, shapeshifters, an "evil twin" who is neither evil nor a twin, non-alien aliens, magic, and the occasional super-villain. Read it, or the Owl will eat you.
Humor and romance amongst a bunch of "Indie" music fans. You don't need to be a fan of Indie music to enjoy the comic - I'm not one, but I still get most of the jokes.
What the "Garfield" Comic might be like if we didn't get to read Garfield's thoughts. A variety of different artists (including myself) have contributed; as a result the quality of the art varies significantly.

Other Favorites
A great site for posting non-pornographic art. There are a lot of great artists on there, too - though there are plenty of mediocre or poor artists as well.
Forums for the Kigo fandom - fans of the series "Kim Possible" that think Kim and Shego would make a good pair. Also has sub-forums for other pairings, both homosexual and heterosexual, and both non-canon and canon.
Did you ever think that Superman was a jerk? This site has a collection of actual Superman comic covers and panels that "prove" it! (This collection also reveals the secrets of the Popemobile Go-Cart Time-Machine!) Other collections "prove" that Batman and Robin are gay, and that Wonder Woman is a bondage enthusiast!
