| Hi everyone,
I'm currently looking for Games Masters (known as Directors in this project) and Moderators (known as Producers) who would be interested in working together on building an Online Play by E-Mail interlocking Mega-Campaign for the Stargate: SG-1 RPG... This project is tentatively known as The Chronicles of the SGC at this time. The name could be changed if someone comes up with a better name. This project will have a minimum age requirement of 17 to join since there will be some adult situations and content showing up (we gonna be a Cable show baby)! Currently, the project needs to get both moderators and games masters... I'm taking myself out as the head moderator because I really just don't have it in me to run a game at the moment. But I've got plenty of time to help come up with ideas for adventures (or episodes as we'd call it in our little project). But that's about it. I've decided that Ill remain as a junior moderator. I'm looking at the moment to find a group of moderators who won't become power mad and chase off players. That way no single moderator becomes to powerful. I'd love to have at least four other moderators for a minimum of five. A chairman/chairwoman (known as Executive Producer) will not be set as a solid permanent position. In stead an election for the position can be held every four to six months. All members (moderators, players and lurkers) of the game will be allowed to vote for chairman form among the current board of moderators. Additional moderators will be approved by elections form among the game's membership. Each member in the game can make nominations for moderators form among their number. If a moderator leaves the game, election for the nominations for a replacement will occur within a weeks time, and election for said vacancy will occur within a month after the vacancy has occurred. The way I am hoping to do this will allow controversial decisions made by the moderators board can be over ruled by a super-majority vote held by the membership. Thus we can keep hurt feelings form happening. To keep feathers form being ruffled, a rating will be held in the subject headers that will be followed by a set of codes that will be MANDATORY when you make a post with adult content. Deliberately mislabeling your post will result in several levels punishment if the moderators get bothered with enough complaints about it. This ensures that people will NOT read and be potentially offended enough to raise a big ruckus over a post if it has been written in a really "hardcore", alternative lifestyle, or fetish oriented material. Yes the codes have been drawn form the same codes that are used on most fan-fiction newsgroups... It's a good idea that really works. So I'm gonna steal it for this little project. The Moderators (Producers): Moderators will work together to keep the project and its games moving along smoothly. They are meant to act as 'moderators' when a games master makes a ruling that the players don't agree with. Or they are there to assist games masters and players during the character generation process, and for resolving disputes between players or between games masters. The Games Masters (Directors): The episodes of each team will be handled by the Games Masters (Directors) of each team. The Detachment Commander of the teams will not have to be the Games master (Director)... I want to set it up where the Games Master (Director) can be totally independent of the team... In fact that would be preferable for the Chronicles of the SGC PBeM campaign. That way the Games Master (Director) is responsible only for controlling the NPCs and guiding the game so that everyone can have fun, and not feel as if they are being strong-armed into anything. Plus this allows the Games Masters (Directors) to pass the game onto a new GM (Director) incase anything comes up and they are unable to run an adventure (episode). The Player Characters (the Stars/Main Cast): The Player Characters will be just that. The Characters played by the Players. The only real difference for this project is that the Players are going to be a major aspect of the game, and the game will have a lot of Character Development during the adventures (not all adventures will be off-world missions). The Non-Player Characters (Supporting Cast): The Non-Player Characters have several levels or descriptions that will be included into their use for the project. Moderator Controlled NPC (Special Guest Stars): Moderator Controlled NPCs (Special Guest Stars) are the major cannon characters form the TV Shows... SG-1, Base Staff Personnel, and the known members of the US and other National Governments. Games Master Controlled (Guest Stars and Major Supporting Cast): Much like the Moderator Controlled NPCs, these NPCs are under the direct control of the Games Master (and normally are created by either the GM or Moderators for use in the campaigns of your team). Player Controlled NPC (Supporting Cast): These are extremely minor NPCs that are part of the lives of the Characters, and are nominally controlled by the Player Characters. But Games Masters or Moderators can use these NPCs during game play to bring more character interaction and development, since this is what they are meant for. The PCs (the Staring Cast) are allowed to create these characters, and are allowed to control them to a major extent that is not seen by Moderator (Producer/special guest stars), Games Master (Director/major supporting cast) or Generic (the extras) Non-Player Characters. Generic NPC (Extras): Generic NPCs are the normally faceless and usually nameless non-player characters that sometimes end up becoming a major supporting or supporting cast member. In other words they are the Extras. The people that are in the background to show how things are getting done with the Staring Cast is out there having their adventures. And they are there to make the Player Characters look good. The Lurkers (Viewers): In most games Lurkers don't do much but sit back and watch the game as its happening. But in this project you will actually have a voice in the game. You will be allowed to vote on who will be replacement Moderators when the time comes, and you will be able to vote on those moderator and games master rulings that need to be reviewed. Also Lurkers can even help the Games Masters and Moderators by creating new adventures (i.e. you become a Writer). And form your vantage point you will hopefully one day decide to become either a games master or player character. The Campaigns (Series): Each of the Player Character Field Teams will be its own Campaign (Series). Each Campaign (Series) will hopefully have its own main supporting cast who might end up showing up in the other campaign (series). The Serials (Seasons): To help keep track of character and game development each Campaign (series) will be broken down into serials (seasons) that will be run, this means you've come up with a years worth of adventures (episodes), that will be played. I am hoping that we can set it up with each campaign (season) to come out as fifteen adventures (episodes). The Adventures (Episodes): Each adventure is going to be known as an episode. At the completion of each adventure (episode), either a game log/digest would be posted to the files section of the main mailing list. Some Games Masters, Player Characters or Lurkers can even write the adventures out as a short story for everyone's enjoyment. The Ratings: A rating followed with the following codes is MANDATORY when you make a post with adult content. Deliberately mislabeling your post will result in several levels punishment if the moderators get bothered with enough complaints about it. This ensures that people will NOT read and be potentially offended enough to raise a big ruckus over your post if you write a really "hardcore", alternative lifestyle, or fetish oriented material. Yes these codes come form the same codes used on most fan-fiction newsgroups... It's a good idea that really works. Ratings: PG-13 = Strong language R = Strong language and adult situations NC-17 = Sexual activities X/XX/XXX = The REALLY hardcore sexual activities... Here is a list of common abbreviations you may run across: M = Male F = Female O = Other You can combine these codes to make pairings: M/F = male/female. M/M = male/male. F/F = female/female. F/M/M = One woman and two men. F/F/M = One man and two women. F/M+ = One woman and a bunch of men (orgy/gangbang). F+/M = One man and a bunch of women (orgy/gangbang). F+/M+ = Lots of men and lots of women (classical orgy). Post Content Codes (When in doubt on what rating or codes to use ask one (or more) of the Moderators): Anal = Anal sex BDSM = Bondage/Discipline/Sado-Masochism B-Mod = Body modification - piercing, tattooing, scarification, etc. Beast = Bestiality CBT = Cock/Ball Torture D/s = Dominance/submission (may be followed with M/f or F/m). Fet = Fetish Inc = Incest N/C = Non-Consensual (forced sex/rape) Nec = Necrophilia PWP = Porn without Plot/Point S/M or SM or S&M = Sado-Masochism (See also BDSM) Tort = Torture The SG Field Team Types: In the game background the SGC has recently been reorganized to create distinct missions they routinely undertake. Now with the set up that I've been working on, there will fourteen field teams for player characters. Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting teams are general purpose teams capable of carrying out a wide and diverse mission types. SG1 remains the primer field team of the SGC, and was designated as a troubleshooting team that remains under the command of Brig. Gen. Jack O'Neill. Exploration: Exploration teams are dedicated to exploration and scouting missions. When compared next to troubleshooting teams, there is very little difference in their mission operation or team composition. The only real difference is in the reorganization of the SGC. Combat Operations: Combat Operations teams are dedicated to a wide variety of combat missions. And as such are larger and heavily armed. Covert Operations: Cover Operations teams are created to carry out covert intelligence gathering missions that rely heavily on their ability to remain hidden on off-world locations for long periods while gathering detailed information. The Positions on a Star Gate Field Team: In the game background the SGC has recently been reorganized to create distinct positions on the various star gate field teams with minimum requirements for each position. Position (minimum rank required for position) Detachment Commander (Commissioned Officer of O4 or above) Executive Officer (Commissioned or Warrant Officer) Intelligence & Communications Specialist (non-commissioned officer/enlisted military specialist) Linguistics & Cultural Specialist (Civilian Specialist/Commissioned or Warrant Officer) Heavy Weapons Specialist (non-commissioned officer/enlisted military specialist) Weapons Specialist (non-commissioned officer/enlisted military specialist) Medical Specialist (non-commissioned officer/enlisted military specialist) Mission Specialist (Civilian Specialist/Commissioned or Warrant Officer) Mission Specialist (Civilian Specialist/Commissioned or Warrant Officer) Here are the mailing lists for the Chronicles of SGC http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Chronicles-SGC/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Chronicles-SGC-OOC/ |
