next day's entry

OK, I'm back from my vacation and two days of blech.

Spent 10 days in Menominee, came back Sunday night all wiped out from the drive, then ended up doing some late work Monday and Tuesday and not being into writing at all.  But then, I was thinking I had nothing to write about.  Then I thought, whoops, I have a ton to write about.

All about my week.  But how to shorten it up?

Went to the Snappers game the 14th.  Very cool.  They won.  Crowd was huge.  Fun.  Long lines.

Picked up Nathan on Friday and took him to Menominee for the whole vacation time.  K's kids were at their dads, so it was just the three of us.  Had a pretty good weekend.  Gave Karla her newly cleaned Mother's ring.  Nathan said he wanted to have a stone in it, and so I am on a mission to find her a new one.  Might not be real gemstones though.  Nathan's stone is Diamond and mine is Alexandrite.  Expensive stuff.

Highlights---Applied for a couple jobs.  Haven't heard a word yet.  Starting to piss me off.   Installed a couple new ceiling fans, made Karla some window boxes.  Bought a table saw so I can make some more interesting things.  I have bookshelves in mind when I have the money for some extra wood.  And many more window boxes made with a little more time and thought going into them.  The two I made, I just threw together.

Took Nathan to Ripon to register for school, and get his school pic taken.  Made sure we got the large package so I can get a big pic for the house in Menominee.   Hopefully one for work too.

My parents came to work on the bathroom.  And finish it.  They had bought a bunch of decorative stuff.  Some very nice things.  They redid the floor, and started on the walls.  I had to move everything out of the bath, and after they were gone, move it all back in.  And install the new medicine cabinet they got.  I am grateful for all of this, as well as the toolchest and wetvac that they bought us.  BUT!  Very stressful having them at the house.  That place is kind of my vacation place.  To have them there so much isn't fun.  K, at least, got to go to work nights.  Not me.  Not to mention the huge mess they left and all the stuff I had to do on Sunday with a bit of a hangover.

Speaking of which, saw Shayne--Karla's ex's band, playing out for the first time.   Yes, they are a cover band, but what else would play in Menominee?  No one is coming to see an all-original band around there.  They actually put on an enjoyable show.  They playlist was very long, and widespread.  That was a very nice thing.  Country, pop, oldies, even The Cameltoe Song.  I lost 4 games of pool though, which was odd.  And two games of darts.  Even odder.  Soooo, now I need a dart game and pool table for the rec room.  Any one want to donate??
