| Another weekend over. Life shorter by a few days. So sad to think about. All this time that you spend doing stuff, and one day, it's just all gone. Dust. Blech. So happier thoughts. Nathan was a good kids all weekend. A good thing. My parents came to Menominee, and though they were helpful cleaning before the party, and doing some work in the bathroom after, my Mother trying to tell us what to do, and when and so forth with the house was a bit trying. Just have to learn to ignore it, I suppose. Just funny when someone comes in and says, oh, you should do this, and this and this, and what about this. We've had the house since February, do people think we haven't been thinking about it since then? Over and over? Now I'm having to install the ceiling fan and light this coming weekend. Which is a good thing, it's been sitting waiting for me to do. Then the railing during the vacation week. And if the money is there, the partial roof section. That one piece of roof needs work really soon, it seems to be leaking into the ceiling of the den, and to prevent more damage, we need to repair it quick. Also, have to spend a bunch of time looking for work up there, so that these projects can be more affordable in time and money. Shaun's party was pretty cool. Plenty of food, people, gifts. Shaun seemed really happy with it. I played a little frisbee with the kids, and a little football. The pinata took awhile to break, but was fun for everyone I think. Sunday we went to the Parade. Sat through about an hour and a half of it before Shaun needed to go back to the house, since he was all wiped out from the heat and sun. I carried him back, gave him some water and grapes and we got ready to go to the Waterfront Festival. That was interesting. A few food tents, a couple kids slides and things. We walked through, they went down the slide, and tried a few games. After that, and Nathan asking about 30 times about going swimming (and being tackled and mauled by Karla), they went swimming. Of course that's when the clouds rolled in, and the thunderstorms started. They did get to play in the water for a little while though, so it was pretty cool for them. It started raining hard, on the way back to the house, and all the windows there were open. Fortunately, the water was only coming in from the North. And in the truck. And I didn't notice until I was ready to leave, hours later. Wet butt for the ride home!! C |
