next day's entry

Funny, I keep getting sidetracked by that website that I spoke of before.  One of my very favorite artists, and he posts OFTEN to the site.  I mean, you can ask questions, or ask him to post art, and he will do it the same day.  Amazing.  Only thing it, you have to check back all the time, to keep up with all the coolness!

Speaking of which, read Charles De Lint.   Excellent writer.

Also, Posed is not short for, nor the correct pronunciation of Supposed.  And Pacific is an ocean, not a way of saying Specific.

Anyway, my weekend was mostly wonderful.  No kids around, just me and Karla for the first time in almost 2 months.  I love the kids to death, but it sure was nice to be alone.  Got a bunch of little things done around the place, pulls for ceiling fans, screen for a window, replaced glass in another.

Ate Dijorno's Spinach, Mushroom and Garlic pizza friday night.  Don't knock it until you try it, it's an excellent pizza.  Also, Garlic Bread, and a fairly costly bottle of Chianti Classico, that didn't go over well.  But that's the breaks.  Watched Wonder Boys, but accidentally played with Karla's hair.  Of course that eventually knocked her out.  Oops.

Saturday, went to Menard's, then did the putzing I mentioned.  Karla did a ton of cleaning.  We also arranged TV's in all the rooms.  Forgot that part.  Got my Mom's old 27 inch TV for our bedroom, Art's old 20 inch for Megan, and the old TV in the Den went in Shaun's.  Hooked up a VCR to the one in our bedroom, and Nintendo to Shaun's.  Have to run cable to the kids rooms, and get an outlet in Megan's so she can use her TV.  And if I ever find a job there, we can move my TV up and put it in the Den, or if we do that Rec Room in the basement.  In any case--lots of TV's.

Made my chili in the afternoon.  Was expecting company, but none showed.  So what else is new.  K got a headache and went to bed anyway, so it turned out ok.

Went to Walmart for some shopping for Shaun's birthday.  Spent more than I thought we would, but doesn't that always happen?  Then to a cute little house/restaurant on First Street by the bay.  We had passed it earlier when we returned overdue library books, and K decided we should eat there.  OMG, good coffee.  The food was good too, but the coffee!!!  Wow.  Going back soon.

Worked on the bathroom floor a little, mowed the lawn, which is looking greener and less weedy since I worked on it a couple weeks ago.  Stayed until 9, slept all the way back to Waukesha.

A nice weekend though.
