I do need to get the money together first, and fix myriad other things at the house, but once I have . . .
The third floor will have a trap door into the master bedroom, or second floor landing. Pull down stairs to the attic. The chimney will be pulled down to floor level, the heating ducts rerouted, and floors and walls put in the north end of the attic. Electricity run there. I picture the ceilings following the roof line and insulated. A skylight or two for natural light.
I used to have an office in the basement of the duplex Ken and I shared. It was great. Cost $700 to build and was worth it. A computer desk, TV, couch, stereo. It all was a great little getaway.
This room will be similar. The computer will be there, and it will be a place to write. To finally do the writing I've been putting off forever and ever. A couch and TV, a little retreat. It will be a shared space with whoever, but very ME. The walls would have my Frank Miller prints up. The Skyy Vodka poster I just got. The original ASH cover and hopefully, someday some other original John Byrne Art. A couple of cool action figures and statues to round out the theme. Hmm, maybe a non-smoking room?
So, this room steals a little from Ken's "Palace", and Brian's "Lion's Den". Sorry, guys, but I'm thinking everyone should have one now. I need a name for it though. I have an idea, let's see if it flows---Dragon's Cave? Lol, I think we have a winner!!
And then of course there's the basement rec room for pinball, pool, etc. All that space!!
Now where do I get the money? Ebay? Well, that's not going too well so far. I put 14 items up so far, and no bids. I wanted to put up more, but I don't have a camera here, it's in Menominee, and it'd be too much of a pain to have Karla try to take pics and describe the books for me. So, I just have to wait for the weekend. Oh well!
