Other notes about this last weekend. Nathan was great. I spent some time studying with him on Friday and once again felt like I could really be a teacher. It's too bad I'm discovering this now. Why couldn't I have known a decade ago? Then I find out the source of the whole, "Who are the Packers versing" question. The kids are always asking that, and its bugs me, because someone taught them something that doesn't make sense in any way. Sure, it's the Packers versus the Vikqueens or whatever, but that doesn't translate to the Packers versing the Vikqueens. So I might have to figure out a way to become a 4th grade teacher to work with that sort of thing. Call me anal. Lol, now that's funny.
I never talked about Karla and my Weekend in Milwaukee. Now would be a good time to do that, don't ya think?
It's going to take more than one day though, there are a lot of things that happened that weekend. Let's start with my arrival Thursday night. I got there late. Slept, woke up Friday morning to take the kids to school,
Karla got a call then from the people for the movie that was filming in Menominee, The Godfather of Green Bay. They wanted her to try out for a speaking role! As an extra, but still! So we got ready and went in to their temporary office and Karla tried out. She didn't think she did well, but I think she probably did better than most. Everyone trying out would have been in the same situation as far as not knowing the lines. The part was for a waitress serving the star--Lauren Holly. She was told they'd be filming either later that day or on Sunday. We hoped for Sunday since we needed to get to Milwaukee early Friday night. Oh, and as we were leaving they said they wanted me to be in the movie too.
After I saw the temp agency guy and was impressed by him . . .
