It was a purple weekend . . . .
Once again we made tentative plans with friends and they didn't show. Sad, very sad. Fortunately, I had never expected them to, so my expectations were met. Could have been fun though. Could have played Yahtzee.
In other news, played Yahtzee with Karla a bit. Won three, lost three. Fun playing with two people, more fun with more.
Let's go back and start at Friday. Normal work day, got out at the normal time, took a normal drive north to Menominee. Did have a little fun with email truth or dare during the day. Turned out to be an interesting story, though I have my criticisms. I will try to turn the email into a readable version and print it in the adult area on here, with my criticisms, perhaps. We'll have to see.
Got to Menominee around 7 with a Beef N Cheddar for my honey. (Yikes, when did I ever refer to Karla that way? Scary.) Started doing some cleaning up for the abovementioned friends visit. Did some dishes, straightened up, did some laundry. Karla came home somewhere in there, and I went down, and we started playing that Yahtzee game.
Went to bed, and both of us were tossing and turning half the night. Just not a good sleeping night. Just as we got comfortable, I realized that we had to get up for Megan's early morning Basketball game, fortunately the only one this season. 8 is early though. I woke, woke Karla, then made coffee for us. Got ready, and we were only a minute or two late. Megan's team won, of course. They are pretty good, I'd say.
We went home and checked to see if friends were still coming, and they were, so we went to Subway for a shared sub, then to see Cold Creek Manor. A decent movie. And has an interesting parallel to our house. We bought it from HUD who had repossessed it from the former owner. In Cold Creek Manor, he also buys a repo house. The former owner has issues with that. Hopefully, we never run into similar problems.
Got back and found out they weren't coming. So we quickly got ready, and went to the 40th Anniversary Party of some of Karla's friends. It was a surprise party, and the surprise went off perfectly. The Bride cried and cried. We drank quite a bit before dinner, but then dinner came, and messed up the whole drinking thing. K got a tummy ache, and I just felt full. So we stayed and talked and K danced with her friend Diane. It was a good time. A woman at our table started her napkin on fire in the middle of things, and this guy with issues about watching women pee, told a story about the groom taking his bride to the outhouse and feeling "amorous". Disturbing.
After we went to The Schooner, a very attractive bar I've talked about before. Watched the Badgers game and hung out with Karla's sister Kori and her boyfriend and some other guy. That was fun too, especially with the Badgers winning.
