Weekends are entirely too short! Feels like I just got out of work minutes ago and already I am finished watching the Packers destroy the Seahawks. Only a few hours until I am due back at work and back in Waukesha. Why can't weekends be 5 days, and weekdays be 2??
I haven't written much at all lately, but I hope that having to be at work at 9:15 from now on will help to change that a little. I'll have an extra hour in the morning to work with, and the writing can be done then. I'm not making any promises though--the first year of this journal was easy, but it gets harder to get back into the groove once you've fallen out of it. Hmm, makes me think of something . . . .
I didn't do all that much this weekend. I delivered the new cat up north. Persian. Pretty grey cat. Big. Male. Growls when you pet his back, at least the first night. Got a little more comfortable with everyone as the weekend went on though.
We went to the Menominee Maroons football game, but it was pretty chilly and Shaun had to pee/got hungry so we didn't stay very long. Kind of a bummer--they scored 20 points after we left to come from behind and win the game.
Got back to the house, put the kids to bed and watched Dreamcatcher. I watched about half. Karla watched about half. We watched different halves though, as she fell asleep, then stayed up to watch after I went to bed. But then she fell asleep again. Oops. We did eventually finish it on Saturday night. Funny, the characters were all from Derry, and "It" took place in Derry and had the same sort of characters in it. Could Stephen King's imagination be running a bit dry? I hope not.
Saturday, Megan's Basketball game. Close one. They lost by one basket. The other team had about 18 players though, and Megan's team's coach held their best player out of the first quarter, giving the other team a lead that was insurmountable, though they gave it a good shot.
Then Matt's birthday party. Kind of weird having it in an unfinished house--unfurnished too, but I can understand wanting to show off your new place, and have the party in your "own" place. Had some pizza, hung out awhile, then took off for home. K napped, I mowed the lawn. Kids played.
Sunday, Packers whooped Seahawks butts. Everyone stayed in the pool, though it looked like 5 might be out for the second week in a row. Getting a little irritating taking so long to finish and award us our winnings! Daddy needs a new Fridge!
Installed about half the pipe insulation, and some foundation insulation, then relaxed and watched Trading Spaces 100 Grand. Sure would be nice if they'd come to our house!!!!!
