This octopus was not fully grown at the time this photo was taken. Despite its four foot span, however, the octopus had no trouble assaulting and consuming the unsuspecting woman depicted here. Details of the attack are scarce; there were no survivors.
The waterproof camera evidently fell into a nearby creek when the photographer was murdered, shortly after watching the same happen to his wife. Bouyant and tough, the camera was picked up, unscathed, by a person who wishes to remain anonymous. As can be seen, the photo found its way to this website.
