| As is proved by this image, man-eating octopi have been common antagonists in the history of folk-lore. The carving, found etched onto the ruins of the Colisseum, surely depicts a tree-shaped octopus, a realistic assumption by the Roman artist. After all, no attack survivors exist and therefore no appearance clues were available. |
