2004 DAY FIVE
Day five was not wasted by any means. We left around 9am, and we decided to take a different way home and drive South and then West along Highway 60 to take a drive through the Southern tip of Algonquin. It was well worth the different route and it turned out to be only 10 or so kilometers longer that the drive up. We took Highway 60 West to Huntsville and stopped for about half hour for lunch. Then we jumped on Hightway 11 South to Barrie and it turned into Highway 400 South. We got on the 407 toll route expressway and missed and accident we heard about on the radio and we took the 401 West home to London, arriving in London about 6pm. As we were unloading and washing the Pontiac Sunfire, we were greeted by giant hot air balloons from the August Long Weekend "Hot Air Balloon Fest" held in London.
Overall I give the trip an A+. The weather was perfect. Not too cold at night and only a few short sprinkles of rain. In 2005 I will be planning on staying a few extra days and bringing a few extra people too. A small single burner stove and pot set (with lid) will be added to the packing list too.
