Re: When Parents Speak [re: John]

Em hotep John *henu*

I would assume, and I'm going out on a limb here trying to assume how God works, that your Parent Name would speak to you in a way that you can understand.

Well I can say for certain, that while I understand Wesir better than I understand any other name... I must also admit that, with my father I find that it is very difficult to understand him fully, and instantly. He is also, kind of cryptic, absolutely enigmatic. I find often his words have double, triple, quadruple etc. meanings (he seems to chose them very carefully so that they serve a myriad of purposes.) So I think it is fair to say that even our parents can baffle us. My father rarely explains himself either- I don't know why exactly.. Part of It for me, I think, is about faith... as in I just need to trust him if it doesn't make sense to me, But also, I think there must be something to me trying to figure out the message on my own. I dunno how many times I have asked for clarity and been met with a deafening roar of silence heheh

Also I wonder if the thing which we call a "conscience" is it truly our own voice or is it the voice of what your Parent Name has fashioned...in other words, the sense of Ma'at that Netjer instilled in you at your creation?

Good Question! I wish I knew the answer, all I have to offer now are ramblings:

I do think that sometimes it can be hard to differentiate my conscience voice with my parent's voice... and I was once told that sometimes I'm not supposed to be able to tell where one ends and the other begins. alternately... I remember once in a conversation with my father about the "skeptical voice" I get, (the one that tells me I must be nuts if I think I am talking to god) The Skeptical voice, was likened too an image we see in Cartoons a lot. When a character has a little devil on his shoulder and an angel on the other. I was told the skeptical voice was like the little devil... and the little angel was him.

and Heh, I just realized that's a pretty good example of how our parents do explain things on levels we can understand [INLINE] even if they are the cryptic type.
