Welcome to the site one of the oldest and largest Christmas parades in Georgia. With over a hundred entries each year, Rome's Christmas Parade has delighted citizens of Rome and surrounding counties for over 60 years! Our Christmas parade is a non-commercial, non-profit event organized by a volunteer committee of caring citizens.
Each year we honor an "unsung hero" of our community who has given unselfishly of themselves above and beyond expectations, with little recognition in return, as Grand Marshal for our Parade. This year, we are happy to present this honor to Janet Byington, who embodies the spirit of this award. With over 30 years of devoted service to our community, and 22 years dedicated to making our parade the great success that it is, we are proud to have her as our 2006 Grand Marshal.
Mrs. Byington will be leading the parade and was honored on November 21st, at the annual Grand Marshal Christmas Breakfast at the Coosa Country Club and sponsored by Heritage First Bank of Rome. |
