then you may have a bigger task ahead of you. You have to believe that there is a place for everything imaginable in the universe whether it remains unseen to you throughout your lifetime. Some say "if I cannot see it, it doesn't exist" I say, they have a right to think this way but I feel sadness towards these individuals nonetheless. One has to go beyond the physical to become spiritually developed, for indeed it is one of our spirits tasks...we must learn to look beyond the flesh and the outer environ to find more beyond it. This is a challenge for certain and one we all must take on at one time or another. If you master this area, you will find hidden treasures in life! Your psychic ability will improve with a broader belief in all things. Surely, life becomes a lot more interesting as well doesn't it? Give it a try. Start believing in aliens, dragons, fairies, unicorns and all other such things. Perhaps unicorns for example, do not exist here on earth but they exist in our minds and culture. Perhaps, in realms we cannot now access unicorns in fact do exist! Who are we to completely doubt and shut out all possibilities? The idea is to never do this and to allow our souls to be free to grow, experience and express itself. You will become more intuitive and psychic because these too are things not easily quantifiable or physical.
You must develop your emotions to a higher level. The importance of empathy and sympathy. Let's say your visiting a reputed haunted location. Who in the group do you think will pick up on residual or actual emotions in this location? More often it is a women. This is not a sexist generalization. Rather it is merely a reflection on how women are generally taught to be more emotionally connected to others. Women are often socialized to sympathize and empathize more than men. A larger number of psychics are women due to this. There is a percentage of men as well, though smaller, which is now growing in numbers. Not only is this a reflection of how men are being raised to feel more "allowed" to admit to being psychic but also a larger reflection of how males are being raised to be more emotionally varied. I say hoorah to this!
In order to better connect with a person (living or deceased) or an environment you must truly care. Also, you must be willing to place yourself in the possibly vunerable position of feeling and sensing others emotions past or present. This isn't necessarily easy. Most people do not realize it is their sense of empathy, sympathy and humanity which aids them in sensing things considered "extra sensory". You are very much like an open door in which emotion blows through. Often many people will almost describe it this way as well while being in a haunted location or in other such moments. Spirits and the energy they leave behind will often be lost on a person who has no interest or is self-centered. Supernatural forces will sense an emotionally open person and they will seek out these more sensitive persons to deliver a message or to express something of importance to them.
You must be willing to invite the energies around you to actively partake in your life. You have spirit guides who help you everyday. Yet, they can go unthanked for an entire lifetime. While I am told they never expect a thanks, it is often appreciated and I have noticed a more open reciprocal relationship develop because of this. It's important to ask your spirit guides to come to you in your dreams (and ask that you can remember these visits). It's important to pray and ask the God/Goddess for help, guidance and for other such positive things. Keep the connection open between you and the God/Goddess and the many wonderfully helpful and loving spirits around you. If you have "deceased" loved ones, and you miss them do not restrict yourself to talking at their gravesite. They are always able to come to you in a seconds time when you think about them or want to talk to them. Make the positive spirits and energies welcome and simply ignore the dark energies. You can be psychic without this direct connection, however I find it is more pleasant and productive to ask for reciprocation and communications to be sent to you. It's great psychic practice. They'll be pleased to help you develop your abilities. It'll certainly help you and they better understand one another when the times call for it.
