| If you read earlier pages you might have noticed I once lived in a very haunted home. There are a few more interesting stories still worthy of being told. My Mother has always been sensative to spirits and presences. However, there have been very few incidences where she visually registered something unusual. It was nighttime and she was semi-sleeping. I do not recall if my Dad was with her or not. No matter. Sleeping facing the door, my Mother suddenly felt the urge to look up from her pillow. There, standing just inside the enterance of the bedroom door was a little girl. At first she believed it was me. That was when she called out my name. Perhaps I was not able to sleep or wanted something. Afterall the little girl had dark hair and was about my height. Well, my Mother was confused because I didn't answer. Just then my Mother realized that the nightgown she wore looked quite different. She looked (squinted) again and saw the little girl disappear in front of her eyes! She never saw her face only the back of her head. She also never saw this ghost again. Another incident that both my Father and Mother remember well is one that still makes them feel uncomfortable to this day. I recently had them recall it for accuracy and that's when I I realized how very frightening this must have been for them. One night my Father and Mother prepared for bed. They sat in bed talking and trying to unwind when the closet door (which had been closed) slowly opened by itself. Well, my parents observed this and noted the door must not have been closed properly. With this, one of them got up and closed the closet door tight (this door had never shown to be any trouble before. I should also state my Dad was a construction worker and knew the door was not broken or what have you). After they settled in to bed again and resumed their conversation (the closet door faced them so they naturally were looking at that part of the room) and once again the door slowly opened once more. Getting unnerved one of them got up again and closed it. They now suspected something supernatural was occurring (they were used open to this possibility since they had experienced enough of the unusual by that time). By then they had fallen silent. Then one said to the other "Watch it open again..." Just then the door creaked open again. My parents were now quite upset. Then my Father began seeing a shadow (he is more visually talented than my mother remember) walking and pacing the hallway as he had on several occassions. Then from upstrairs came loud banging coming from the dining room. Apparently, it seemed some force was violently opening and closing the doors and drawers of the furniture hutch(etc). My parents went upstairs to check it out. All was quiet then. My parents were really rattled so they decided to call my Aunt and Uncle (who are believers of the supernatural and would not doubt their story). Shortly after my Aunt and Uncle arrived. They had coffee with my parents in the kitchen upstairs. My Mother was shaken still so my Aunt elected to go downstairs and check on my sister and I. We were fine but as my Aunt entered my parents bedroom she saw a women emerge from the closet (which was a walk-in closet). My Aunt described her as old with an angry expression on her face. She wore a long coat (light pink I believe) with boots and a bonnet. My Aunt, who is also quite psychically sensative and aware said clearly to her "Go away and leave them alone". The women disappeared. We don't know if this helped or not but the effort was appreciated. Interesting Points About the House We had two dogs at the time. One dog named Junior was particularly sensative to the "presences" around that house. He used to bark at the air or often at corners. We tried always to believe it was merely a terrier being a terrier (denial is a good way to cope under those circumstances). In retrospect, I know that terriers are good guard dogs since they alert their owners about threats and approaching people and such. Maybe Junior was trying to alert and defend us about something when he barked at corners? Also, our friends and family often reported feeling odd in our home. Some avoided sleeping over because of this. We didn't even have to mention any events and people were uncomfortable in our house. My cousin, who was five or six at the time, reported to his Mother that he did not like going into my bedroom because he said "things move all the time". Due to this we played upstairs a lot when they came over. (Check out the only 2 pictures pic1 and pic2 ) I have left of one of the most haunted areas of the house. It was a play area/toy storage area my parents made for me.) When we eventually sold the house and left it we noticed that the house always had new owners. The house always seemed up for sale. We didn't find this too strange. Years after we moved I had a good friend who I told some of these stories to. I mentioned the address to her. She said "Wait a minute, that's where my Uncle and Aunt moved in". She described them to me and that her Aunt had been pregnant at the time. I told her that I distinctly remembered her Aunt and Uncle the last day we moved. I was seven but I clearly remember briefly seeing a red headed man with a women who had a big belly (that's what my seven year old mind understood). She said that her Aunt and Uncle had only stayed at that home for a short time. I asked her if she could enquire about it to them. I certainly wanted to know if they had seen or heard anything unusual. The answer I got was simply "they didn't want to talk about it". Apparently the couple did not wish to discuss the house. I suppose I did get my answer afterall. They must have seen something or they wouldn't of refused like that. More Family Experiences My family has had a past full of supernatural experiences. In fact, my Mother's side of the family once had a cottage in the late 1960's early 1970's that was quite an exceptional cottage. It was VERY haunted! Check out this picture of my parents in front of the barn that was on this haunted property. Please continue reading to find out more... |
