Angels are one of the most beloved and internationally accepted symbols of God's power, benevolence and beauty. We find them in all forms of art, in literature, movies, and music. For thousands of years, these celestial beings have been spoken of with great respect and reverence. Many religions share the belief in angels, even if they do not tend to agree on much else. Religious texts mainly from Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam, agree on the existence of angels and angelic intervention.
(In the following section we will discuss angels in a general sense. That is to say, they will not be referred to, in any specific religious view or philosophy. Also due to space limitations here, I will not cover them from a historical view either. I will, however, discuss them in a general spiritual view which everyone can appreciate) |

My spirit guide (Jessica) and her definition of angels gathered during a channeling session: Please Note: Anything found in brackets is myself trying to clarify a reference for the reader.
"Angels teach us. We are great friends. The nature of an angel is total loyalty to the God and Goddess. They do not have free will but are happy still. They need not have opinions since they are fully perfected beings. They act as intermediaries and protectors. They do not have (individual) names, more of a sound. Angels look all alike. They possess the same static personalities. They are soldiers who follow their leader, however God is kind to them. The God and Goddess adore them. They love to watch the angels and hear them. It is not a myth or mistruth that angels sing, they do. In fact, that is their only voice (they are telepathic otherwise). There are certain phylums of angels, certain ranking. They are all beautiful and have different colours to distinguish them and each has a different sound to identify them by. Each ranking has a different task set onto them. The ones who take care for humans are there for protection and keeping harm away." |

My own definition of what an angel is: A different species. A creation meant to perform various spiritual tasks. They act as envoys, protectors, helpers, healers, and intellectual masters. They also destroy darkness and negativity. They aid in the crossing over of all human spirits and act out answers to prayers. |

My Own Experience With Angels

I have felt the presence of angels in my life. I sense them particularly during times of danger. For myself, I feel angelic presences often while driving or out in more vunerable environs. As a child, I recall playing with very tall benevolent "persons" in my bedroom when I was alone. They were pleasant and did not frighten me. They would not talk out loud, but I remember they still communicated with me. This stopped at a certain age. Since then, I have many "too vivid" type dreams with angels in them. Again they are very tall, simply dressed, and do not verbally communicate. I do however, always feel comforted by their presence within "the dream". My spirit guides tell me I have many angels around me, as do almost everyone. Special angels come and go though when certain tasks are required.
